Terrible rooms and inedible breakfasts
By lisa, 01/02/09
This is a place in my hometown, we went to a special New Years Party which includes dinner for 2 at the Granadaroom, which was very good, breakfast for 2 in the cafe, which was inedible! We got one meal cold and the bacon was green and overcooked, and the ditzi waitress gave my husbands away to people she liked who came in and got served immediately. We had a room for the night, which hasn't been updated or CLEANED since 1983 at best! What a was of a Fun New Years! The local paper, The Valley Press, has been notified and working on letting the locals in on this HORRIFIC local business and the owners and operators to see about shutting them down for good!

WORST PLACE EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/08
The pictures online must have been taken when the hotel was first opened in the 80's. The sparkling pool was very dirty and the spa was empty and filled with empty soda cans. 90% of the lounge chairs in the pool area were broken. We didn't end up staying overnight, when I tried to rinse my daughters off after going to a friends neighboring pool to swim the bathtub faucet let out nothing but rust water. It looked like a murder scene. The walls were all patched up and the room was very dirty. One of the table legs were broken and the fabric on the chairs was falling apart. When we went to the front desk to inform the manager that we were very unhappy she simply argued with us. I would not tell my worst enemy to stay at this hotel.

Don't ever go to this motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/07
This may have been a nice place 30 years ago but it is a hell hole now. Nothing worked in the place including electricity, plumbing, or smoke detectors. We tried 2 different rooms and people traveling in our group also tried several different rooms hoping to find one that was decent. No luck. One had no lock on the front door one had a taped up place where the handle used to be on the sliding glass door. Free porn though- great for the kids. It was dirty, including carpet that was sticky, sheets with yellow sticky spots on them (from the bleach they use -they said!), counters that hadn't been wiped. The person working at the fron tdesk when we tried to check out early after staying one night and not being able to tolerate another night was the worst customer service person I have ever met. Don't even get me started about why the police and fire department had to come or why my credit card has still not been credited! Don't bring your family here!

Nice service, good value!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/06
The Desert Inn is an older hotel but nice. The service was great at the front desk and at the 2 restuarants. And the food was so delicious. The bar was nice too. Great decor in there and very busy. The rooms could use an upgrade but all together quite clean and comfortable. This hotel has a very classic feel. From the room to the bar. I would definately suggest this hotel to my friends. I'm looking forward to my next stay.

Good Place To Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/05
This place has every thing under one roof, good food, good breakfast, and nice busy bar with live music, clean room. Rooms are little old but were clean and comfortable. The next day we talk some of our company co-workers who were complaining about other hotel, also moved here. We had a good time, good service and we enjoy the bar every evening. Nice staff, very helpful. Our experience of five rooms for five days was GOOD.

It was a nightmare!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
The service was very poor. They did not do our rooms in 2 days, we had to use the same towels for 3 days because of that. The air conditioning was not working. I found 2 cockroaches, one in the bathroom and the other in the room. There was not enough lights in the bathroom and in the room because two lights were broken. We are a soccer club so we were a big group of parents and teenage girls whom could not use the swimming because it was not working.

Should be rented by the hour. YUK!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/05
This should not even have 2 star rating. The rooms are circa 1960 and smell it too. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work. The TV was broken. If you do not require any sleep then this is the place for you. Fighting all night (even a stabbing) outside our room (both nights) People screaming, crying and fighting.(Surrounded by 2 bars) Police sirens wailing all night. Right next to train tracks, with a train blowing it's horn every hour. THERE IS NO PARK LIKE SETTING. JUST A FEW PALM TREES SURROUNDING THE PARKING LOT. With what appears to be a lot of tranisient youth partying it up in the parking lot.

Not a great one...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/05
Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, bathroom was tiny, bed was quite hard and was overall very dingy. Other accomodations in the area are much better and less expensive.
