Rose Parade/Rose Bowl
This is a nice, comfortable, clean hotel one half block from the Rose Parade route. The room has a large refrigerator and a microwave, plenty of space. There is a nice breakfast with cereals, yougrt, fruit, rolls, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea and make your own waffles. The hotel has two pc's available for guest use with a printer to print your boarding passes or maps.
It is a great jumping off point to explore Pasadena and points of interest in North East Los Angeles.
There are two full service gyms within one half block of the hotel ($15 for 24 hours pass). Across the street is Von's - a fully stocked (nice wine and liquor selection) supermarket with a Starbucks - opens @ 6am.
starting.
The staff is nice enough but they were unable or unwilling to provide information about the area or the parade - at this price do not expect concierge service.
If you are attending the parade - you can easily walk to grandstands from here. If you are attending the parade and the game - there is no public transportation and about 1,000,000 people driving out of town or to the game a few miles away - tough traffic situation. Best bet is to get a seat in the beginning of the parade route (you'll need a ticket) and walk over. It is 5 miles back to the hotel. Dirve over there and you'll have the car to drive home - gotta get up early to get there.
