Honk Honk

The decorations are very hip and the breakfast is very good.
However, the comfort level of the hotel is almost zilch. I stayed for 4 nights in a room that was literally about 30 feet from a freeway with an on-ramp. There are no double pain windows. I woke up in the morning tasting dust and gasoline. The shades on the windows are kept closed at all times.
The walls are very thin and the noise from the other rooms was awful. The linens were stained and the lighting was so dim I couldn't even read. The bed was hard as a rock. The TV was an old Zenith with about 10 channels and a lot of buzzing and snow. The phone was missing all kinds of buttons. I sort of feel like I've had a stroke, I'm so stressed out. Why does the health department allow these places?
The rooms in back might be better but I think those are all occupied by the owner's family. I booked through Hotwire which might explain the beating.
