Best bang for buck in Beverly Hills!
By ydnah, 02/09/09
I recently stayed at The Orlando as I had to make a trip to LA for a wedding. They were friendly and curteous on the phone and the location was ideal so I thought I would give them a try. From the moment I went through the lobby doors when I arrived, to the moment I left, the staff were nothing short of fantastic. They are "I found" very eager to help and please the customer and on one occasion Nassi {front desk manager} was nothing short of heroic. The rooms were immaculate, bathroom, spotlessly clean and the overall sensation was that this is a well maintained hotel. As previous reviewers have all ready said, location location location. Overall I believe you will have a great stay here, I know I did and I will definitely be going back!

Hidden Jewel! Friendly staff, great value!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/06
A travel agent friend reccommended this place, since a freind of hers recently joined the sales department and had her over for lunch and a tour. When I checked in the valet staff was friendly and welcomed me to the hotel. The front desk clerk also welcomed me and after I gave my name remembered me for the week I stayed, continuously addressing me by my name. Rooms are bright and sheik. From the plasma TV's to the i-pod stations, I felt like I was at home and not at a hotel. The Le Terza restaurant was one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced. (The ossubucu was to die for) I highly reccommend the hotel and their restaurant.

Very Poor - Would Not Recommend This Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/06
Desk staff was arrogant and rude at check in time. Room was not made up. No ammenities to speak of except for an attached restaurant. Restaurant - breakfast was poor quality and quite expensive for what you get (cold hard scrambled eggs, 1 burnt piece of bacon, cold toast that seemed to have been microwaved.. for $18.00/person), though the wait staff was attentive and polite. Air conditioning unit was extremely noisy and the controls did not seem to work properly. Over night parking - valet only - $20.00! Has pretentions to be a boutique hotel, but definitely doesn't cut it. Overall, extremely expensive, poor quality, no real ammenities. Would not stay there again and would not recommend this hotel.

OK but not great
By Crystal, 03/23/06
My husband and I spent about 6-8 weeks last summer while I was having testing done at Cedars Sinai Hospital. They were undergoing reconstruction of the lobby/restaurant, which turned out great. The rooms are nothing special definitely paying for the entrance and restaurant. I would compare the rooms to Motel 6/Holiday Inn (clean/small/nothing fancy). The staff was very friendly and helpful in getting us the lowest price possible for our longer stay. Overall a nice and quite hotel but nothing fancy.

Good, but could be a LOT better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/06
Despite the clean lines and uncluttered appearance of it's downstairs lobby, this hotel falls short of the mark for what I would classify as a boutique hotel. The rooms were about the same size as your average Motel 6 or Holiday Inn. The beds were a bit more comfortable than those other places. Other than that, nothing else about this hotel stood out from any other run of the mill hotel/motel room. For the price, the room should have a WHOLE lot more amenities than it did. Probably the thing this hotel could do for it's guests that would make a tremendous difference is have a small gift shop so their guests don't have to wander the streets of West Hollywood at night looking for a shop that sells snacks, batteries, bandages, etc...Around where this hotel is, it's not all bright lights. Walking the sidewalk there didn't feel very safe. I was very upset that I had to wait until morning to go across the street to some run down-looking convenience store to buy what I needed. I would have paid more to the hotel if they had carried something like that. If the hotel were at the same price as places like Holiday Inn, I'd go back. But for what you get at the price you pay, there are other hotels that offer more at a better price.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/05
THE ORLANDO PLAZA IS THE BEST LITTLE BIG HOTEL WITH A SUPER LOCATION. IT HAS ALL THE AMMENITIES IN A SMALL FRIENDLY PACKAGE. LOCATED 2 BLOCKS FROM RESTAURANT ROW AND THE BEVERLY CENTER MALL AND DOWN THE STREET FROM THE GROVE AND FARMERS' MARKET IT'S HOLLYWOOD AND MORE.

My favorite hotel in LA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/05
The Orlando is a real treat, a reminder of days when not every hotel was the same. It does have a bit funk to it, but that is what gives it its charm. The rooms are well appointed with 200+ thread count sheets and Ipods in every room with a great eclectic choice of world music. The restaurant is always busy and there is a great continental breakfast available in the morning.

Don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/05
The location is okay but the Hotel's service is awful. It was hard to get a hold of a manager to discuss my complaints. Front desk staff were not helpful at all. The chairs and windows of my room were dirty and I couldn't talk to a manager at the front desk. Not a place to stay.
