Great Hotel Low rates New management

Everone was very helpful from the desk staff to housekeeping. Ive stayed at the hotel in the passed and was pleased but They told me they were under new management after I complimented on the service I received. I will tell all my family and friends about this hidden jewel!

Unforgettable accomodation

I found Best Western in San Juan Capistrano unforgettable, because when we booked there, it was with the intention to have a romantic getaway. But we ended up not staying in much. Because our room was infested with roaches. I remembered in the middle of the night I woke up with roaches crawling underneath the covers. It was disgusting. So rest assured we won't be back!

Be Careful before you stay here

The staff is not friendly; they messed up our reservations; we paid for 9 rooms 4 months before our stay...And they gave away one of our rooms!!! I would not EVER recommend to stay at this hotel. If you do, make sure you check, double check and triple check your reservations. The owners of this hotel do not have very good control of what goes on at this property. Also, don't even think about any type of continental breakfast or coffee :(( The best this "Best" Western can offer is canned soda from the vending machine! ... Again ... be aware if you stay here, but I would NOT EVER recommend staying at this hotel!

Not worth the money

Place was not clean. Booked through cheaptickets for a deluxe, when we arrived, we were shown a regular room as there was no hot water in the part of the building where the delux room was located. There were cigarette holes in the blanket and the atmosphere had a general run-down feeling. There was no refrigerator and the microwave didn't seem to work. The door didn't seem to close properly either as you could see the gaps in the doorframe. We were so unhappy with the experience that we left the hotel 2 days earlier than scheduled. We had a hard time getting a refund for the two days as the hotel blamed cheaptickets and cheaptickets couldn't get confirmation from the hotel that we left earlier. We had asked for a receipt or an invoice when we left and we were told that we didn't need one.

Good location, bad service

First the good: The price was reasonable, the room was big and clean. The location is great (5 minute walk to downtown). The VERY bad: For all three days that we stayed there, the hotel rec center was rented out for (3 different) parties - I think one was a wedding. LOUD parties. Now, they generally ended by about 10-11 pm, but it was impossible to relax in the room with the pounding base. Also, after they were over (loud) clean-up took until 12-1am, and people talked loudly outside the room. Management was unhelpful. Why should they care? They got much more money from the party organizers than they got from us. If I had known about these, I would never have booked. I never will again.

We had made reservations over 2 weeks prior to arrival and requested a non smoking room. We got to the room and it smelled of smoke and there were ashtrays available. We called the front desk and they said they were full and nothing they could do. Left 2 messages for the manager to call us (he wasn't in when we called) and never received a call back. The room was also next to the stairway and was very noisy.

Can't Beat It!

It's not often that you can get a well-kept, clean room, a certificate for Breakfast at Dennys, both freeway and Beach Close AND get to bring your dog...all for under a hundred bucks! This has to be the best kept secret in Orange County...

Convenient to venue we were visiting. However, they offered shuttle service to the venue and when asked to provide it did not have staff readily available to accomodate our requested arrival time.

Place is impossible to get out of without causing an accident. Too much traffic. Rooms are filthy. Construction noise. Stay away.
