Disapointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/09
We stay at a lot of Hilton Properties, I can honestly say this was the first time some one put a finger up to have me wait at the HHonors desk. We did get our room when we got there and since I feel INTERNET SHOULD BE FREE I could not check my email from my room and by the way earlier some one said internet was $12.95 that is if you want highspeed (10mb) if you can call it that and dial up is $10.95, and the guys that said you are charged for everthing except sleep, well I am sure they are trying to figure a way to charge for that as well. I went to Pizza hut and great little cafe just north of the resort called PINKY'S and give pizza hut 4 stars and that was after they dropped my pie. compared to what Hilton is doing to people, oh my point I would travel 20 miles to spend my money just so I did not have to give them any more of it. I dont think there are words to express how dissapointed I am. so the direction I got to get to the place took us through some kind of getto the entertainment was watching crazy hookers at 10 am screaming at the gas station.

Great Place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/09
My wife and I have stayed here quite a bit. It's a great place for family and kids. Thong friendly at the adult pool. Food is kinda pricey for what you get.

Really slipping! We used to love it but-
By Bill, 07/01/09
Summer rates bring in the "weekend warriors" so the occupancy rate was high. If you are a discriminating guest, you will be disappointed. This has been a favorite resort of ours for over 20 years but it is no longer clean and well maintained as it once was. There was an antiseptic odor like a economy rate motel when you entered the room. Our showerhead would not stay in position and the fawcet valve was so stiff I got scalded trying to adjust it. There were 5 old cigarette butts between the elevator and our room, barking dogs in next room @ 11pm, dog feces 4 ft from our room door. The next morning I went to the pool to enjoy my coffee and noticed towels, beer cans & bottles around the pool from night before. It was over 20 minutes wait in line in lobby for a coffee refill. (No complimentary coffee; the sign said $2.75 but the cost was $3.50 -"resort tax" I was told"). The beer cans, etc were still untouched by the pool when we checked out just before noon. The parking was so scarce and constricted that if you have a full size car you must take a ride in a golf cart up the steep incline to the room (after a reasonable wait, of course). The staff was very cordial and efficient, I will say and they helped find another more suitable Hilton property when we checked out 3 days early.

Great Family Vacation-would go back!
By David, 12/02/08
We took our 3 of our kids, 15, 12 and 8 and had a GREAT time. I heighly recommend this place for an unusual and quality experience. It was definitely a good deal as we booked it through Yahoo travel and made a package of it. Never have done this before and it worked out great. This is a slow part of the year so there were not any crowds and the weather was unusally warm, so, it was perfect. The room was a suite with two rooms, two queen beds and a fold out queen couch. Perfect to fit a family of 5. We requested to be near the pools so it was easy walking to get there every day. The pools are amazing and numerous so you will never be bored. Pools are warm and huge so we spent lots of time in the water, using the cool slide and lounging on one of the many beautiful deck areas. Lots of hot tubs which we liked. The landscape and location in Phoenix are perfect for those who like to hike, which we did. Located right in the middle of North Mountain recreation preserve there is plenty of hiking and great vistas and scenery. Real Arizona nature and beautiful. There is great food on premises although pricey as expected. Quality was very good. Within easy reach are many restaurants and supper market to get inexpensive foods to save money and time. Resort staff was very friendly and helpful for suggestions and directions. Grounds are beautiful and definitely a resort property. We love unusual places so the hillside terrain was not an issue for us or the narrow lanes within the resort. Made it very European feeling. There is a charge for using the on-premises computers. Cheesy in my opinion as most places offer it for free. Beside that, there are no negatives and we would go back for sure if we had the chance.

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/08
The service was impeccable, this place is huge and all of the service people were very friendly and accomodating. The room had pillow top beds and feather pillows to die for. My family and I slept like babies. The many pools (8 in all) were well maintained and fun for the kids. There were many things to do and we just had a fabulous time. We will go back again. I normally don't write reviews but prior to our reservation I was almost disuaded by some of the poor reviews. As it turns out, the poor reviews were probably from the spoiled, whiners of the world that are never happy with anything.

Nice Pools -- Rooms ?????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/07
We checked in on 09/28 and found a Scorpion in our room- We understood that we are in their environment, BUT we then switched rooms without even getting a phone call from the front desk manager or GM of property to see how we were doing- When I came down to front lobby hotel desk person told me that she was stung by a few scorpions in the past and wasnt a big deal???????????????? Management and Staff should take lessons from HYATT!!! NEVER WILL GO BACK! Other issues too like newly rennovated rooms with open caulking around tub tiles holes around sheetrock- shower and tub parts loose and smell of new carpeting gave us a headache- Also they should check their AC vents filters- my room had dust coming out of ceiling room 3049 was suppose to be a newly rennovated room- Will take all of these items up with Hilton HQ.

A Class Act
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/07
Excellent customer service from check in to check out. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The grounds provide a spectacular view from anywhere. A great place fro the family or a romantic get away. With the fitness center, pools, shops and restaurants you don't have to leave the grounds once you check in. I now have to take three trips a year, Vegas, the Bahamas and now Phoenix. The Tapatio Cliffs is a great place for families and singles. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thanks to your great staff at the Tapatio Hilton.

Frustrating
By RecentVisitor, 07/19/07
Everything you do at the Pointe other than sleep will cost extra. The internet is $12.00/night. Want to use the exercise room $10.00/day. Make a local call $1.00. Decide to check out early they want $45.00. It would be different if it was truly a luxury hotel but it is not that nice. Parking is a nightmare. You either park far from your room or parallel park near your room. Rooms are nice but are starting to look dated.
