Tired Resort
By GuyW, 5/4/10
Lots missing here. Room service stops at 10 pm. Casitas are worn-out..dinky old TVs...tiny showers... no desk in room to work at just a little table. How is this a "4 star resort"?

The Golden Door Spa - Hit & Miss
By Spa Hopper, 5/11/09
My sister and I just got back from The Golden Door Spa at The Boulders Resort. We both got the La Stone Massage, which is one of the most expensive treatments they offer, and for your convenience, they tack on a 20% tip well before the service is preformed. My sister got every penny's worth and was quite happy with her experience, and I got a stone rubbed on me like a bar of soap for 45 minutes. I went to talk to someone about it and was met with blank stares, which indicated they had no intention of investigating or even admitting the person who performed the service had no idea what she was doing. $276.00 is to much money to be HOPING you get someone who knows how to do this particular massage!!!!

An Unreal Experience of Natural Beauty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/1/07
The Resort & private Casitas are tucked away in Rock Formations as if they are one. An unreal experience to be able to stay within Nature's Natural Formations, yet have it so nice. There was such privacy that guests feel as if they are by themselves & yet have everything taken care of. Beautiful Surroundings & all personal were great to guests. The atmosphere was spectacular, the Food was Great, room service was outstanding & every attention to detail was taken care of. The Golden Door Spa was truly remarkable. Wonderful nights & so Inspirational. We loved it & can't wait to go back again. Javalina & their families graze & rest on the golf course along with rabbits. Truly a Very Unique Experience :)

Not living up to its reputation
By Keevie, 4/20/06
Since being taken over by Wyndham Hotels unfortunately the renowned service of this beautiful hotel has declined dramatically. The personal touch is lost, and it is unbelievably apparent to the visitor that this hotel is now just part of a mediocre hotel chain that nickel dimes at every possible turn. The location is stunning and my only hope is the place will be saved once it is taken over by a new owner. Someone that actually knows how to operate a luxury resort, and who cares for the past of this wonderful Arizona landmark.

Inspirational
By dennis, 9/26/05
This place is amazing. One thing they have that I've never seen anywhere is something called an Angel Cafe. After a great massage, I relaxed to live flowing piano, and was guided on imagery to connect to my angels. I found such a feeling of peace, it lasted for a week!

Dont waste your money
By MLisa, 8/27/05
I was treated like a second class citizen in resort. I had to lug my own bags, was put down by an attendant at the spa, my shower was dirty, my bed uncomfortable and though I was there for a birthday getaway...and the reservationist assured me that I would have a wonderful birthday stay, I was treated very badly. I was also charged for mini bar items that were not used. Dont waste your money here....the setting is amazing, the service leaves much to be desired.

There isn't anything to dislike. If we were planning a trip to AZ we would stay at The Boulders again.
