Its not called Esplendor for nothing!
By Juliaun, 8/13/10
My Mom and I went there to stay for five days and I cant wait to go back! The rooms are great and the veiw was greater! Not a lot of options for room service but the cheeseburger is practicly a steak on buns! Its all i ate while there. Furniture is nice and authenitic mexican style. The pool could use a good scrubbing though (there was silt on the bottom everywhere) And theres a bit of a bug problem. I came in contact with a giant (size of both my hands) moth though it was just pretty and sitting out side so i didnt bother it an consider it a plus. I came in close, close contact with a very large sunspider that invaded and effectively trapped me in the bathtub (it was on the floor). I trapped with a cup and threw it outside but not before considiring to squash it. I dont think I had a big enogh shoe though. The staff was very freindly and helpful. I didnt want to go home and I look forward to returning.

excellent value, better service
By CT, 5/21/10
LOVE IT! not much on writing reviews, but it really was an excellent trip. We came down from scottsdale and it is as nice or nicer than the resorts here. Try it for yourself. It really has character and the employees are great, even maintenance says hello and inquires about yoru stay...truly amazing.

awsome
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/10
stayed with a group from work. I might just keep working there, if they schedule meetings like this. Jaime and the front desk really took care of us, even the grounds people inquired about our stay....nice!

Primal grill and golf
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/10
Booked the primal grill and golf package from a tv ad I saw while staying in Tucson. We checked out of our tucson spot and ventured toward the mexican border for three nights. Good choice. This place has the feel and flavor of mexico, but it is way better, safe, ecconomical, good food & I don't need a passport. I could go on, but do yourself a favor and check it out....too cool

Happiest valentines day
By Bill Johnson, 2/23/10
Booked a package on line. Price was a value, Resort with all the trimmings, walking trails, wonderful grounds, couldn't have been better. When you consider the price of less than $135 per night, hard to beat. We are from Tucson, so it was just far enough away. Reminded us of Mexico, with the authentic surroundings, hand painted sinks, tile floors, fountians...serene and safe, only 40 minutes away. Great!

nice getaway
By Susan, 5/23/08
we did not know this place was there. Rooms were clean. Food was out of this world. The front desk staff was so friendly and knowledable. They all showed great personality and it was a refreshing experience. We have experienced stuffy staff in the area. Close to mexico, fun day trip. We will be back.

Horrible Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/08
I paid for a room on Saturday 3/15/08. After I received my keys, I left the Esplendor to my sister's house in Rio Rico. During the evening, on the same night, I forgot my wallet and room keys in my brothers car. Unknown to my brother that I left my wallet in his car, he departed Rio Rico to Tucson the same night with my wallet and room keys. Later on when we arrived at the Esplendor, I advised the desk clerks, that I did not have keys to get in my room. I explained everything that happened. They did not let me in my room because I did not have an I.D., (all my credit cards, picture I.D. were in my wallet). My room mate tried to use her debit card,(we share the same checking account, our debits cards have the same account number) but they did not let us do it. We tried to cancel and repay with her debit card but again they denied our request. In conclusion, we paid for a room and because I made a mistake of forgetting my wallet and room keys in my brothers car, we were not let into our room. we were charged for something we did not get. I spoke to Susan Conner, the Manager on at least 2 occassions. She stated that she would look into the incident. I tried to contact Susan at least 6 times and left messages since she never got back with me with the results of her research. My last message was for her to give me the name of another Manager that I could speak with because she was too busy. To this day, I have not heard from anyone at the Esplendor. I just want to make sure that if you rent a room at the Esplendor, make sure that they make a copy of your drivers license or another picture of I.D. just in case you lose your wallet or your car is broken into. I hope you do not have to go through the horrible experiece that we did. By the way, when we returned to Tucson and got my wallet and keys back , I mailed the Esplendor the room keys.

Wonderful Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/07
Celebrating our anniversary we spent a romantic weekend at the resort and can't say anything negative about the experience. All of the resort staff were friendly and very helpful with any request we had. The restaurant was excellent and the service staff did more than expected to make the dining experience a joy. The room was spacious and very clean and most of all quiet. We never heard any of the other guests and we were right off the pool. All in all it was a great time and we would certainaly return again.

Horrible Food
By Josef, 9/14/07
Food is all frozen hospital style junk. Even the pastries are frozen. Got diarreha after eating the disgusting breakfast. Had dinner that consisted a piece of frozen fish with 2-3 carrots. Carrots were barely cooked and uncut.

Terrible customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/7/06
Our reservation took forever to book. Our room was not ready till 6 pm. Our TV did not work and noone ever came to fix it even though we called the desk twice. The view was nice and the room was ok for cleanliness.
