Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/11
I’ve held several meetings at the conference center at the Windemere. It is a wonderful venue for a business meeting. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. They work with you to satisfy your needs and fit within your budget. The food is very good. The acoustics in the rooms are good and they are able to accommodate your needs. I’ve, also , attended a wedding there and would highly recommend it.

Nightmare on main street!
By ETtracker, 8/1/10
The lady at the front desk was nice, but that's it! I will never stay there again. Too many problems to mention. I found the windemere's website and it looked like a nice place to stay, talk about false advertising! well, you may find the experience pleasant, if you're a glutton for punishment.

A stay could potentially put your life at risk
By CG Doc, 5/14/10
Six or seven years ago, we stayed at the Windemere and upon check-in, turned our heater on in the room. Soon thereafter we found flames creeping up the curtains and the room was filling with smoke. The staff was very courteous and immediately took steps to get us another room. Now what follows, you might find unbelievable but is 100% true. We once again checked into the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center on 05/12/2010. At 10:00 that evening we turned the heater on only to discover sparks and the room filling with smoke. We immediatly called the front desk and explain the problem to the clerk who told us as a matter of fact to unplug it at the base of the unit (like this was a regular occurence) and she would be down as soon as she had some time. 15 minutes went by without a response. I proceeded to the front desk to inquire if I would get a more prompt response if I called the Sierra Vista Fire Department? I demanded a new room which she responded that they were sold out and didn't have one available. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said well I do have one on the third floor. Then said well I can put you in one on the first floor close to the unit you were in. Personally, we would NEVER stay at the Windemere Hotel And Conference Center again and highly recommend that you look elsewhere should your life be of any value to you.

DON'T GO THERE
By Mary Ellen, 4/16/10
1st up.refrig did not work.....called front desk...he said I don't think I can do anything about it.......well we are paying for a refrig that doesn't work. I unplugged and opened the door for the night...next day it was defrosted and worked........carpet smelled like a sewer...called front desk for air spray....he told me house keeping had it but he wasn't walking back that far to get it..........breakfast.......day 1 and day 2 great....day 3 we got sick...bad eggs........last day there I fell in this horrible jacuzzi tub that had a shower in the middle of it......uneven floor...I broke 2 ribs, cracked another one...my husband asked for a different room that had a safe shower........the clerk told him we should have asked for a handicap acessible room......it was nice...but after two trips to the E.R. in Gilbert.......they only reduced our room prize by $20 ...I am off work indefinitely...so I guess that is at my expense they still charged us full price for room........I would have thought we could have got it free after all the medical bills etc......oh yes I left a note the 1st night we were there to please sweep patio...it had pretzels, etc on it from the last renters..........guess the maids.....nor anyone else can read English.........note never touched......patio never swept..............do yourselves a favor and look for another motel..it is not worth it .......no good service...I would not recommend it to anyone.... .......I have e mailed the manager regarding our bill and my medical expenses but either she can't read English or she just doesn't care how much additional my stay cost us after paying the bill for staying there

Horrible Stay- Don't Stay Here
By Toffee, 9/10/08
there were a sworn of flies in my bathtub. when i went to the front desk, they told me a manager would have to handle the situation. the next day when i checked out a manager still wasn't there and the front desk agent told me she'd have the manager call me. i waited two days there still was no call. i finally called and the manager told me he could only take 15% off becasue flies was a problem they couldn't control. after 15 mins of me trying to explain to him that a sworn of flies isn't normal he finally comped my entire stay. i was really disappointed in the lack of attention to my situation. the other review was right- the pics are very deceiving. the hotel needs to be gutted and remodeled to have a modern touch. carpet is old and decor is from the 1970s. How do you have a "conference center" without a business center? I had to use the front desk computer to check in for my flight. i urge you not to stay. there is a marriott less than a mile away.

DON'T DO IT!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/07
I made two reservations and had a conformation number, yet the hotel sold my rooms. THEN they charged my credit card for nights i didn't stay. Don't bother, go to Bisbee or Tombstone. You will be stranded in the desert with no where to stay!

Beware: a "Motel 6" in "hotels" clothing
By Matthew K, 1/25/07
I arranged for rooms for a wedding party (guests of bride and groom) and was embarassed and disappointed on arrival. If their online marketing picture of this "hotel" is worth a thousand words then then all them would be synonymous with "visual deception". I couldn't believe it was the same motel as on their website. Marketing photos of this place are taken by a true pro and look have little in common with the reality of the place. "Windemere" is really a motel with a weaselly PR agent. The propaganda on this motel would have you believe they are a country club but are really not worth more than a 1.5 star per night price. Many walls are painted cylindar block. The second story of the building (blocked by the trees in the photograph) is a sickly 60's blue-green. The "golf" in the area (not associated with the property) is a 9-hole (in the wall) glorified put-put. The breakfast is self-serve and self-cook (waffles with conc OJ). The area in which they are located is run down and on motel skid row. I wish I had taken my digital photos of our experience just to illustrate the differences. We paid $95 per night for this place on a Sat and cancelled reservation a much better property ($85- Holiday Inn which I saw in person) due to this media deception. Caveat Emptor on the property.
