Shanghai Olympic Hotel, Scottsdale

Desk staff was courteous, but no knowledge of much of anything. I asked where the closest grocery stoe was, and the girl at the desk was clueless. Had to ask a maintenance man instead. I purchased a pre-paid vacation, but she still needed my credit card. I asked how much of a hold would be placed on the card, and was told no holds, just authorizing the card. I checked the card 2 days later and 60 dollars was taken off my credit card. I went and asked what the 60 bucks was for and was told incidentals. I asked what incidentals, there is no honor bar, you cant rent a movie, and I use a cellphone. I was told its incase I take a pillow. Not sure how many people steal pillows that hundreds of people have drooled on, but I could buy a nice goose down for 50 bucks elsewhere. Room was outdated but quiet. Maid service was great. Took care of my room and left extra coffee when I asked them too. Location was perfect, everything you need within a few blocks. Free internet service was very lousy ,especialy on their own computers which were hardwired.I new I was getting a budget hotel, and thats what I expected. Only reason I chose Days Inn Scottsdale was that they allowed smoking. I would stay there again

I thought this hotel would be more up-to-date considering its location off of Fashion Square. The carpet was ancient and the decor has not been updated since the 70's. I was very disapointed. My initial reaction upon opening the door to the room was "YUCK". I honestly wondered if we would end up with head lice or worse. Not a good experience.

We have been visiting Days Inn for years! We love the location and the value. It makes a great weekend get away! We started coming here before we had kids and took advantage of the night life so close by. We love the free 'show stopper' tickets for casino arizona. (free limo ride there and back). The pool side bar is nice to sit and visit, watch a game or get a cold one and relax be the pool. Now we have children and they love that they can barrow a ball and play in the grass and sand areas and of course theres swimming. The mall is so close we walk over several times for shopping, pizza or ice cream. It is always very clean despite the datedness of it. If you are used to places like Hotel Bel Aire, you may not like this place, but for us it is wonderful.

This hotel was a great value and a very convinient location. I stayed there for a week straight and my only complaint was that the hot tub was broken the entire time.
