Night in Kingman
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/07
One of the better hotels. Sitting area in the rooms. Makes it nice for the children. Breakfast is included, and its yummy. It has a nice pool and the indoor jacuzzi is great. JB restaurant is next door, but I would not recommend it. The rooms are quiet and easy access.

Wonderful place & employees

We really liked the "family" rooms. It gave us alot of room and privacy from the kids as well. We would definitely go back.

Lovely room, excellent value, great staff!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/06
My husband and I travel through the Kingman area often while on the way to visit family. We have stayed at this motel many times. The rooms have a lovely fresh decor and each has a semi separate sitting area with a chair and love seat, (it probably makes into an extra bed, but I didn't check), and a small table and chairs. The rooms are equipped with a small fridge, microwave, hairdryer, a phone in the bedroom and bath and even and iron and ironing board. The bathoom has adequate counter space to put your things, and the tub/shower combo has great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We feel the rooms are more comfortable than many upper scale hotels we have stayed at. All the staff are very pleasant and efficient. We enjoy the continental breakfast and coffee in the morning which includes waffles you make yourself. The front desk ladies will help you if you need assistance. We don't have children, but if you do, this is a great option because it saves money and time, and you can get back on the road quickly in the morning. We have never seen any "scary" looking people staying there. However, when ever you stay away from home, you have to be prepared to see folks who may look different than you are used to in your home town. This is a motel for gosh sakes, and people of all kinds travel through and stay there. We've never been bothered by anyone. I would not hesitate to recommend Best Western Kings Inn to family or friends, and I would feel perfectly safe bringing my grandchildren along. Kingman is a great little town with an interesting history. You can read all about it in the room guide. There are some old photos of kingman in the room that make the story come alive. Okay, Kingman doesn't have a big shopping mall or much in the way of up scale services, but's it's a nice clean little town with friendly people. There is a restaurant conveniently located next door but we have not been there yet so we can't comment on it. We usually have pizza delivered from Papa Johns or Chinese from Lo's Restaurant. They are just down the street, but I understand they will deliver to the room, especially if you call before 5. Honestly this is the best Chinese food we've had in years. Very fresh and tasty like the kind I remember having in San Francisco as a child. Overall we think Best Western Kings Inn is a terrific place to stay in the Kingman area, and I can't imagine anyone having anything bad to say about it.

How far will freedom erode?!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/05
My sister (a non-smoker) and I traveled from GA to CA, staying at 4 star hotels (i.e. Embassy Suites, Hotel Monaco, Loews, Ambassador) across the country with no problems. On our last night we stopeed in Kingman, AZ and this appeared to be the "best" hotel to stay in. We were refused service because they didn't have any smoking rooms and they would not put us in a non-smoking room because I am a smoker. I thought this may be a mistake made by Evan, an employee. I called Tom Spears, the manager, only to find out this is his rule. I would never smoke in a non-smoking room and I am appauled that we were refused service. My husband called and made the reservation and we did stay there because there wasn't any other choice. We were told that check out was at noon but at 8:30 an employee "opened" the door and was surprised to find us there because they said the front desk had us checked out. Needless to say I won't be back to a Best Western and word of mouth advertising is extremely powerful.

Not what I expected from Best Western
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/05
I can't complain about the service, cleanliness, location, or the value... everything was average or better. However, I booked this hotel because it was along our route, but it's basically just a converted motor lodge right next to the interstate. My kids were a little freaked out by some of the riff-raff staying there. I wouldn't recommend it as a great place for the family... it's just too exposed to the interstate. No fault of Best Western... I can't imagine much better in this town anyway... I'd still stay at the other Best Western hotels though... haven't had a bad experience yet.
