Never ever Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/11
Bar and restaurant service the worst I had in AK. Room was tiny and so hot we could not sleep. Terrible view of the ice machine. Check in clerks were rude. If you want to check out a cool hotel lobby then go here, if you want good services adequate temperature rooms and reasonable rates with free wifi then go somewhere else.

Beautiful, but noisy seaplanes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/10
Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms with ammenities of newspapers and a basket of fruit, not once but all three times visiting. Beautiful trophies and when going into the bush, you don't have to worry about theft when leaving your baggage. At the time I visited, the bar food was pretty dull and regular, but that wasn't tops on my list anyway.

A step above
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/06
We moved over from the Best Western next door - they matched the price due to a low occupancy so contacting the front desk directly is key. Very nice establishment with shuttles to & from downtown on a schedule and "on call" to & from the airport a couple of minutes away. Public spaces are filed with trophies - the restaurant was very nice and the chef showed originality in dishes - the staff throughout was helpful and attentive.

Expected more.

Very nice lobby but thats it. Far away from downtown where everything is. For the same money you can get a top hotel downtown.

Wanted to Stay Longer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/05
Our first trip to Alaska. The Millennium Hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. We needed to change rooms at the last minute. The staff seemed to go out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed a week; it wasn't long enough!

Average Says It All
By Angela, 6/22/05
Pros: Location near floatplane base is great for an aviation fanatic like myself. Good on-site restaurants. Helpful concierge. Hardworking (and apparently overworked) bellmen. Nice lobby. Cons: Indifferent front desk service. No hot water one morning (for $229 a night I at least expect a hot shower in the morning). No one bothered to give a heads up or apology or anything. Staff seemed overwhelmed at times. Millenium Alaska is not a luxury hotel despite the luxury tariff. I did not feel that I got $229 worth of value. I'd say more like $109 worth of value.

Great Alaskan Ambiance Close to the airports!
By Diane, 5/24/05
The Milennium is one of the fun places to stay in Anchorage. As you walk into the lobby, you are transported to the rustic past of a hunting lodge with dark wood panelling, fireplaces and reminders of great hunting trips in the form of majestic mountings of all of Alaska's wild animals. The hotel has a great restaurant with ouside seating for the summer in view of Lake Hood and the float planes taking off and landing. If you visit in the winter, try to come at Iditarod time in March, as the hotel is the Anchorage headquarters of that great race and bustling with updates of the race. All in all, a great experience, as is all of Alaska, whenever you visit.

Great character but rooms are awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/5/05
Looks like they are in the midst of a renovation. Rooms look like something from a bad 60's sitcom. Bar is fun and food is very good. Good location.

Very Alaskan and very nice for the $
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/05
The lobby is very unique and filled with priceless, some antique, trophy mounts. The two hotel restaurants overlook Lake Hood, a busy float plane airport adjacent to Anchorage International Airport. The rooms are very clean and a good size for the price, and the hotel staff are very friendly.
