Limited choices when traveling with pets
By Kristen, 09/07/09
There is not a whole lot to choose from when traveling with pets. The room itself was okay, a little musty but expected at the beach. The lobby was nice, good breakfast, clean lobby. The biggest issue was the housekeeping, things left from the last guest included, eye glasses, trash, dirty soap, open shampoo, open bottle of water. The front desk manager said "oh" not even a sorry when we brought these things to her attention as we found them. The only person that actually cared that our room was dirty was the girl that checked us out. Other than that no one seemed to care there was dirty soap on our shower. This place will not be our first choice when we return to the beach.

Would go back again..
By dave, 07/11/09
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.Staff was very nice and helpful. The only problem was that one of the rooms we had small ants in the room. The maid service needs some work but it was a good place to stay..

pricey but fine
By Commissioner Joe, 10/13/07
They had live birds and free cookies in the lobby. A nice stay but price seemed a little high considering the location. Maybe I missed something. Concierge was by the book but a little cold. Decent facility though, seemed modern. I've had better included breakfasts, the most premium offering was hard boiled eggs.

Don't let the bed bugs bite!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/06
This is not just an old saying, it is the truth at this hotel. Woke in the morning to find bed bugs crawling all over the bed. I had never seen a bed bug in my life. I identified them from a google search. Was moved to another room, but was told I would have to move to yet another room cause that one was already rented. One morning I just had a checkout slip under my door with no room to move too. I left the hotel. I am no expert, but a little info on bed bugs that i have read on the internet. Please verify the info for yourself. It is true that bed bugs are sometimes carried into hotels by the guests staying there, but here are tell tale signs of bed bugs. Lift the fitted sheet and look in the ridges where the mattress is sewed together. If you see dark blood looking spots, dead dried brownish bugs and or live bugs. Bed bugs can be very small or as long as a 1/4 inch. They are redish in color and resemble a tick. They may get into your luaguage and travel home with you and they are nearly impossible to get rid of. You may not see the bed bugs on a cold bed, but after being in bed a couple of hours the bugs will be attracted to your body heat and will come out. If you ever get lonely in a hotel bed, you might can expect some company at this hotel. One more note, why is the carpet always nasty in the hallways at these hotels.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/05
Breakfast bar had so many delicious choices, service at front counter was professional and extremely knowledgeble about local things to do and see. Room was super clean and comfortable and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone going to this region as it was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Despite being really busy and full of guests due to several hotels and motels in the area closed, the staff were always available. Thanks for such a great stay!!I can't wait to come back.

Nothing great, nothing bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/05
On a holiday weekend, maybe we should have spent our 155 a night at a B&B. We stayed in one of the hotel's suites near the lobby. Probably should have asked to be moved since party folks made noise 2 of our 4 nights there. Better security would help inside and out at night. The suite was large and spacious. The sofa/sleeper a bit uncomfortable. The king-sized bed was adequate, but ask for more pillows. The pillows provided in the room are flimsy. The whirlpool would have been perfect if the water didn't turn yellow as you filled the tub. The pool is small and if you don't like open pool areas, then look elsewhere. The parking lot surrounds and looks into the tiny pool and there's no privacy. If you like to sleep in, plan ahead for your breakfast needs. The ladies who run the 'free' continental breakfast bar tend to start shutting things down 10 min before they should. On our last morning there, milk had run out, cereal jars were almost bare, and some guests were upset their kids couldn't eat. The front desk person came back to try to remedy the situation - just barely. (Seriously, who's up before 9:30 on a holiday?) Location-wise, it's about a 10-15 min drive to the nearest beach in Atlantic City, 20 to historic districts in Beaufort and Swansboro. U.S. 70 has tons of chain restaurants and some department and drug stores, including Wal-Mart and CVS.

It was fabulous!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/05
The breakfast was great. They had all kinds of cereal and pastries. The hotel was so clean. The way everything was placed was perfect. We had plenty of towels. If you forget items like razors, toothbrush, or paste-The hotel will provide you with whatever you forget. My only gripe of the hotel was I felt rushed to check out because the housekeeping lady knocked on our door and asked us were we leaving yet.
