Nothing great, nothing bad
On a holiday weekend, maybe we should have spent our 155 a night at a B&B.
We stayed in one of the hotel's suites near the lobby. Probably should have asked to be moved since party folks made noise 2 of our 4 nights there. Better security would help inside and out at night.
The suite was large and spacious. The sofa/sleeper a bit uncomfortable. The king-sized bed was adequate, but ask for more pillows. The pillows provided in the room are flimsy. The whirlpool would have been perfect if the water didn't turn yellow as you filled the tub.
The pool is small and if you don't like open pool areas, then look elsewhere. The parking lot surrounds and looks into the tiny pool and there's no privacy.
If you like to sleep in, plan ahead for your breakfast needs. The ladies who run the 'free' continental breakfast bar tend to start shutting things down 10 min before they should. On our last morning there, milk had run out, cereal jars were almost bare, and some guests were upset their kids couldn't eat. The front desk person came back to try to remedy the situation - just barely. (Seriously, who's up before 9:30 on a holiday?)
Location-wise, it's about a 10-15 min drive to the nearest beach in Atlantic City, 20 to historic districts in Beaufort and Swansboro. U.S. 70 has tons of chain restaurants and some department and drug stores, including Wal-Mart and CVS.
