BEST WESTERN Executive Inn, Jackson

Got a little worred when we showed up and the entire hotel was surrounded with an 8 foot high rod iron fence! But, the rooms were indoor and we felt very safe. The room was very spacious and clean - surprisingly bigger than a typical hotel room. Bed was comfortable. We spent the night just passing through, but we did notice it was very close to the Coliseum if that is important to you. Did not try the breakfast - chose to eat the Shoney's next door. But, overall, a very nice experience after some initial reservations. Very glad that we did stay here. I would recommend it to anyone. And it was less than $100 on a Friday night!

Room was large and clean! Guest services were terrific. Hope to stay again.

The location is wonderful. Right off the interstate, but close to downtown. I love the layout of the room. Sleeping area separated by a half wall from the sitting area. Made you feel like you were in a suite without the price of one. Also there is wireless internet access, which is great for business travelers. The only negative thing was that there is only one desk clerk at any given time and several times she was on thephone calls (it sounded personal, not business) and guests were made to wait.

There were several dislikes. First, I was assigned to an unclean room that had been freshly painted. The front desk clerk failed to provide this small bit of information upon check-in. There were, however, no problems moving us to another room. That room was acceptable but both the bathroom floor and tubs had a slippery substance on them and the bed had a peculiar odor. Upon check-out, I learned that the hotel was not giving late check-outs and that my room key had been deactivated prior to 10:00 AM; at least one hour before the scheduled check-out time. The finaly straw was when I arrived at my room prior to the scheduled check-out time to find my door open. Upon questioning management officials, the maid was located. When questioned, she said that she was coming right back. I was not at all impressed with this hotel.

The hotel was in pretty good shape, but not great for it to be so new. They said it was going to be renovated soon. The breakfast left something to be desired. The coffee never was fixed right. The location was very close to downtown, but not too close. The room was nice and roomy with a couch and chair. Not bad for the price.

The front desk manager was extremely rude. When approached with a problem, she just got hateful and refused to assist us at all. She basically told us she didn't need our business. Others would take our place, but she would not refund our money either.

I liked the customer service and its proximity to the Coliseum. The special touches at the hotel like the complimentary afternoon snacks and drinks for guests gave this hotel a special feel. The rooms were clean and nice for the price. I would stay here again if I ever have something else going on at the Coliseum!
