great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/11
this place is amazing, it's worth every penny spent. My wife and i stayed for a whole week and enjoyed every moment of it. i recommend you to rent a car because this resort is not close to the downtown or marina...you will need to take a cab every time you want to go to the clubs...Car rentals are not expensive in Cabo. Service was excellent, the staff is bilingual and they serve good food. Pool and spa are super clean and you can view the famous arc from the pool..if you're lucky you might see a Hollywood star staying next to you in one of those luxurious suites the have. Definitive i will return soon.

We had a wonderful time!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/10
We just returned from our first trip to Cabo and stayed at LaEstancia. What a terrific place!! The grounds are immaculate, the villa we stayed in was perfect and clean, the food was excellent, although a little pricey. We lucked out and got a package that included breakfast and that saved us almost $400. Best suggestion is to buy water and cocktail stuff at the Walmart and stock your fridge. The pool is beautiful, the spa is TO DIE FOR!! Had the most amazing couples massage there! We were always treated kindly and everyone was welcoming and smiling. Brenda in the sales office is AWESOME!! So low-pressure, that I will definitely buy from here when I return. Not to mention all the good info she gave us! Really helped us when we weren't sure what to do! This was my first vacation in 12 years and it was the best vacation I've ever had. Norm and I can't wait to return!!!

Great place, Great service
By Cisco, 5/28/09
I took my girlfriend down to Cabo to propose to her and we stayed at Villa La Estancia. The place is very nice and very well kept. The room we got was a free upgrade from what we reserved and was terrific! We were both very pleased with the resort itself and the staff was extremely nice. They took care of everything we needed and gave us suggestions on where we should go that was less touristy. This resort is close to town (a few minutes by taxi) and is on the swimmable beach in Cabo, which is nice. They also two nice pools and multiple hot tubs, not to mention the jacuzzi in the room itself. It is more tame and quiet than other places, and is not full of families and little kids, so it is a good place for a relaxing stay, but close enough to downtown that you can enjoy the nightlife too. I highly recommend Villa La Estancia

Highly recommend for group
By Darby Crash, 9/4/08
If you wanna go down to Cabo with frends, say like, 6 people, this place is perfect. Book one of the 3 bedroom villas, all very nicely appointed, run over to the market that they have on site for odds and ends, snacks etc etc. Pick up some cerveza in downtown. A case of Pacifico will run you $19 bucks....total deal if you ask me. Try to avoid buyin any sort of sundries in Mexico, SPF, towels, flip flops....overpriced. Hope on the water taxi to Lover Beach, bring some brew and you got your own little party in paradise. The hotel....I thought it was very nice. I'm sorry for the bad reviews on this site, they need to give it another chance. Yes, they go into the meal plan thing, but if you don't want it, they leave you alone. After our check in the staff were very friendly. Also, not to eat on site. Maybe a lunch by the pool but that's about it. There are quite a few great restaurants in town. If you want awesome Chillaquilles, head to Stop Light. YUM! You want authentica cuisine head to Mi Casa. Do not go to Squid Roe....lame. Why pay $5.75 for a beer when you can go to a local bar and pay $1.50....duh. If you look around you can watch your budget or you can blow it.

BEWARE! Don't ignore this review!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/08
Out of our numerous trips to Los Cabos, this was the worst experience ever! We arrived on Spring Break to be told that none of the 3 families in our group (13 people in total) would have rooms. They offered us two standard hotel rooms in a different (lesser) resort along with a meal plan. When we declined that offer, they refused to help us any further. In fact, when we asked for lunch for the children in our group while we worked out a solution, we were told they would provide lunch if we signed off that we would walk away (with no refunds)! They repeatedly lied to our booking company about what they were offering and how they were assisting us in finding a place to stay. We were not the only people being "walked" on that day. There were at least three other groups dealing with similar situations while we were there. Hotel/Restaurant staff mentioned that "this sort of thing happens all of the time here". I would be highly skeptical about making reservations at this resort or any affiliated with the hotel management group. We came away feeling as though the representatives of this hotel were dishonest and had no interest in assisting us in finding a place to stay. It was definitely NOT four-star service.

Overall experience = 1 star
By PatriciaW, 10/15/07
Well,I know I cannot expect to see a real 5 star hotel in Mexico, but this place isn't a 5 star at all. The pool closes at 11:00pm so you won't be able to use the pool after that. The staff isn't very friendly and when you decide to rent a car from a company that isn't connected with the hotel ( like Dollar rent a car) , the hotel will give you a hard time to pick up the car and park in their garage. It seems that you have to use their rental company or your car will have to park in the street outside the resort. Horrible concierge service, my room had all the ceiling fans broken and the water in the showers and tube was yellow and when I complaint they told me to wait because of the water in the pipes. Sorry, but I waited almost 2 days to have a clean shower. Felt very unwelcome and will never come back to this hotel again. The check out experience was horrible, got overcharged for food that I didn't order. The food in this hotel is very expensive and when you check out after 11 am you have to pay $50 for every hour after. I asked concierge and was told that it isn't a hotel "it's a villa". I didn't know that. So next time I will find a real hotel where they clean my room everyday and I don't have to ask for clean towels every night. AVOID THIS PLACE. I RENTED A 1 BEDROOM VILLA AND THE PLACE SMELL LIKE DEAD FISH..Internet connection only by the pool and it is very slow..Sorry, I don't want to make you to feel bad about this place, but Los Cabos is beautiful and this place makes it look bad. I would stay at Villa Del Arco instead of Villa De La Estancia just because the pools are better and the rooms too...

We're definitely going back!
By Heavenlea, 7/31/07
This place was beyond my wildest dreams! It was my 30th birthday and I decided to splurge a little bit! Boy was it worth it..We were upgraded to a one-bedroom villa. It had the living room area, another sitting area, full kitchen, washer dryer. OMG this place was wonderful! It's beautiful and well worth the money..We stayed for a week, and wanted to stay longer.I'm definitely going back and staying for at least 2 weeks! You're pretty close to down town, but they have taxi that are 7 bucks each way..It wasn't too bad! Good food and wonderful people!

Perfect Vacation
By Arnel, 6/19/07
From the moment we stepped out of the shuttle, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The staff were all eager to help. There was no language barrier, everyone spoke english. The room's decor was beautiful. The bed was little firm, but I got over it. Definitely get the meal plan for $79 a day. The hotel is in between the Villa Del Arco and Villa Palomar which are its sister hotels, so you are able to use all three hotel pools, restaurants, etc. I highly recommend breakfast at La Casona with fresh made omelettes and dinner at La Perla at Villa Del Arco and finish dinner with the "Mexican Coffee" you will leave dinner with a smile as we did.

Dont stay here!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/10/07
This was the worst vacation I have ever had. Service was no existent and they were the most unorganized hotels that I have ever stayed at. Didn't pick us up at the airport. Over booked and sent us to a sister resort. Could not get coffee rooms were never cleaned before 4:00 pm Paid for a suite and got a deluxe room with no view and right next to the elevators Prices were over the top for food and drink if you could ever get service. Foul smell coming from the floor drain and had to keep a towel over it all week. I could go on but you get the picture. DONT stay here or at any of the resorts.

Love it
By Alice, 9/20/06
It is truly a beautiful place to stay however lounge chairs by the pool are all taken by 9 AM!! Get your chairs early. Restaurant there is extremely overly priced for what you get! Go elsewhere to eat.
