Kensington Close, London

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The Kensington Close Hotel is a block away from the Kensington High St tube station at the end of a quiet street. The hotel room (at least the one I had) isn't quite as modern and sleek as the pictures make it look but it's still modern looing, comfortable and clean. The room is small but well thought out - with lots of hooks and storage space. The things I loved most about this hotel: the price (you can't beat the price, especially considering its incredible location!), the overly comfy bed & the location. Kensington High Street has everything you need - a drug store, coffee places, restaurants and lots of shopping. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to London!

We enjoyed our stay in London while at the Kensington Close Hotel.A very clean and efficiently run establishment. The staff was very helpful and courteous to our needs, with first class treatment given while dinning in their restaurant. We look forward to staying at the Kensington Close Hotel again upon our next visit to London. Thank you again for a most pleasurable visit.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel in June of 2003. The room was small and had two single beds right next to each other and you had to squeeze around them to get to the far bed. The worst thing was the heat (no air conditioning) and the noise every morning (from garbage collection) with bottles rattling into the pick-up truck at 6AM! We did not eat or use the pool at this hotel. Only plus was the location near the tube station and shopping and dining in the Kensington area.

Has a perfect location near Underground and shopping (including food.) VERY comfortable beds, clean rooms ranging from average size for London to huge. A great place to stay. Hope to stay there again.

The staff was not very friendly...plus we could not reach the hotel to confirm our reservation. The automated service answered announcing the hotel's name but no one ever answered the ringing phone line. Not very helpful! Rooms were clean but small. We might stay there again due to good location.

Thought the location was great. Very close to the Tube and other attractions. Not the largest room but it was average for London. The bar and restruants were very convenient. I will stay here again in the future

I have been to London on two separate occasions, and both times have stayed at the Kensington Close hotel. For the room rate, what you get really can't be beat. Make sure when you make reservations to see if it includes access to the health club and to breakfast. They have a large restaurant downstairs that serves traditional english breakfast every morning (the only meal the British get right :) and you'll be hard pressed to find similar anywhere around the neighborhood, with is predominately boutiques, galleries, the park and the palace. there is a McDonalds and an EasyEverything internet cafe right down the street as well, no need to use expensive communications at the hotel. Also the High St. Kensington tube stop is literally at the end of the street, so it is very convenient for travelling by tube. The spa on site is very impressive, nicely appointed and the pool is clean and refreshing after a day of sightseeing/business. Everything the site says about it is true. The price varies greatly I've found depending on where you book travel, so put the hotel name in on different sites to make sure to get the best price! Definitely a good bet, close to what you'd expect from a business class US hotel. If you don't mind a smaller room (which is the case for most, even more expensive, London hotels...) then everything else will more than make up for it. Book with confidence --Jeff, Connecticut, USA
