claustrophobic room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/07
We stayed at this hotel in April 2005. If you do not like small spaces, this is NOT the place for you to stay. The room was tiny. With two adults, and my daughter in the room, there was no place to move around. We were constantly jumping over beds to get around the room and to the bathroom. It was not a comfortable place to stretch out and relax after a day of touring. Fortunately we did so much sight-seeing that we spent very little time in the room. On the positive side, the location isn't bad and is a block or so from the tube. The view from our window was nice, and the neighborhood was okay. But when I returned to London in 2007 I did not stay at this place!!

Best Combination of Price and Location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/07
We stayed here for 4 nights in August. The best feature of this hotel is the location. You're within reasonable walking distance of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. The Gloucester Underground Station is literally 60 seconds from the front door of the hotel. They underground, by the way is the cheapest and easiest way to get around town. The rooms are comfortable and fairly large by European Standards. Negatives: The restaurant in the hotel has subpar food and they don't even make cocktails. The restaurant is over-priced and the service is below average. Internet connection is expensive ($30 USD for 24 hours) Inventory your mini-bar. We were charged for things we didn't use and we were almost late for our flight and didn't have time to argue with them. Overall, this is an excellent hotel for a trip to London. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely stay there again myself.

Will definitely stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/07
You can't beat the location of this hotel - just a block away from the tube! There are tons of restaurants and pubs within walking distance (although the hotel's pub is wonderful as well) and a supermarket right across the street. The hotel staff were great - especially the concierge. Everyone went out of their way to make sure our stay was a great one. Rooms have their own thermostat control and are fairly big by European standards. We stayed here for a full week, and we will definitely stay here again! Such a wonderful experience!

Fit the bill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/07
Location was very good...across from the Underground station, a short walk to Hyde Park, and the Red Bus stopped right outside the hotel. The price was modest (by London standards. It has been 3 years since our visit, so check some more up to date reviews.

Great Value Great Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/06
This was the best place I stayed in London. Clean, efficient with the tube station literally around the corner. 3 grocerie stores and loads of little restaurants. Clean rooms, quiet and the concierge was terrific. Rooms are small but in London this is typical. 2 people may not be able to get both their suitcases open but again - this is just the way it is in many UK hotels and the cleanliness, location, great staff and service more than make up for it. I was a woman travelling alone and I felt very safe and relaxed here. HIGHLY recommend it!! Value is excellent!!

Very convenient hotel in a great nabe
By Clinton_Hill_Cutie, 10/25/05
I was at this hotel for a 3 night stay and will stay there again. Its located in Kensington, a very chic nabe west of central London. Check in was easy, the room was very clean, and the bathroom is very nice (I love the showerhead). The room was a good size (Americans will think its small, but in London its a pretty good size). I was on the 18th floor and the views were great. On the 25th floor is a pantry that provides ice, a microwave, condiments, and plastic utensils. There's a cafe, restaurant and pub in the hotel. And you can leave your luggage in the luggage room so you can roam around town. The Underground (Gloucester Road), two public buses (the 74 goes to Harrods; the 49 goes to the High Street shopping area and Kensington Palace), plenty of cabs and the Big Bus tour are within steps. You're within 20 minutes of all the attractions via transportation. Restaurants are everywhere and 3 internet cafes (approx 2GBP per hr) are open late. The only thing I would do different is try to get a better rate. I paid 75GBP ($130) per night; its a great rate for London but I could've aimed for less.

A Great Place to Stay!
By HHammerhead, 07/17/05
We found a great deal on the internet and stayed in the Holiday Inn-Kensington Forum for five nights in June-July 2004. Like many have said before, we had an upper level room and the views of the city were magnificent. The tube station at Gloucester Road is super convenient. Just make sure that if you're arriving by tube, that you take a right turn leaving the station instead of a left. The main entrance to the hotel is on what seems to be the back side of the building, away from the main drag. Also, the Holiday Inn-Kensington is a boutique hotel, just across the street. Don't get confused! Not to worry, the staff there is familiar with tourists mistaking one for the other. Our stay was everything we could have expected and more for the money. If you get a great rate on this hotel, grab it!

fantasic location & service, very quiet street
By P-Nut, 05/28/05
The staff went out of their way to help my daughter when she got sick! They even offered to go to the all night chemist themselves. They arranged a Doctor to come to the hotel. The location cannot be beat!! Quaint street Courtfield Road has an all night grocery, pastry shop and just down the street is the Lone Star Cafe which is as American as you can get!!! I have never, ever heard the tube station at gloucester which is a block away. Stayed there five times and will stay there another five at least! I have stayed in very ENGLISH hotels and I would rather stay at the Forum ANYTIME!!!!
