First came the literati, then the glitierati, and today it is one of the world*s most prestigious leisure destinations. But there is ritzy, and there is exclusive. The Hotel Juana sits comfortably astride them both on the edge of a pine grove at the entrance to the Cap d*Antibes in the seaside resort of Juan-les-Pins. It has its own private beach overlooking the Lerins islands, which explains immediately why the stars still flock here. Built in the 1930s, it is an Art Deco gem which has the atmosphere of a private mansion offering every luxury imaginable from a white marble swimming pool, to a gym, massage parlours and three gourmet restaurants. To stay here, is to understand what the French Riviera is all about.
