Great Location but far from 5 Star
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/1/11
This hotel had all the makings of a grand place. But it was FARRRRRRRR from a five star hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and wonder how this hotel ever got this rating! It was clean and in a wonderful location in the city and I would stay there again but with the expectation of nothing great. The staff seemed arrogant....attitude equalled "but we;re a five star hotel, how could you expect more?"

I did enjoy the stay! Superb service, great location and the dinner in the restaurant was excellent. I will come again and I would recommend to everyone to stay there!

Even the hotel's employees hate it...
By cb0914a, 6/8/05
Despite the hotel's attractive lobby, the rooms were bland but functional. The bathroom showed it's age (ancient) and the shower curtain was yellowed and torn. The room was clean but lacked charm /character and the view was awful (no natural light). The hotel staff (with the exception of the concierge) were rude and obnoxious (particularly the breakfast floor chief) and the food wasn't great. Wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's not looking for a "package" hotel where all the clients have just stepped off the ExpressBus from Disneyland Paris (white pants, fanny packs and all). Even the hotel's chauffeur told us "the palace used to be nice, but it needs a facelift." Couldn't agree more.

What a Palace

I had a great time while here. Accomodations were outstanding, along with the people. Would recommend for anyone to stay.

The ABSOLUTE Best In Prague
By Michael, 7/27/04
I travel alone. I take short excursions when on business in Europe. So this trip, I went to Prague and discovered this gem in the middle of EVERYTHING. You are perfectly, and I mean perfectly, center to everything you want to see in Prague. Down the block from the Wencesclas Square, and around the corner from the Old Town and Jewish Quarter. Tours start around the corner as well. This hotel is first class with slippers, bath robes and bath beads to soak in after a long day of touring. Enjoy the large plate of cookies you get in your room on arrival and the breakfast buffet is unique to Czech Rep. and delicious. I can't recommend this place enough and I recommended it to a colleague of mine who talks about it to this day. You WILL NOT be disappointed...no doubt about it. Wish I was there now.
