A full conference hotel and BOY was I lucky...
When my conference hotel filled, I was left on my own to locate a place in walking distance of the conference center at the Jesuit church. The Hotel Romantik was the closest and not much different than the conference hotel rate, so I booked it. I arrived very early and they put me in a lovely room, with a wonderful bed, and glorious bathtub in a tiled bathroom with embedded Swarovski crystals (a hotel theme). It had been unusually hot, I had been traveling through southern Italy and France and taken the train. It had been a long time since I had felt the wonder of air conditioning in 90+ degree weather. So with that behind me, a cool room with AC, an exceptionally good schnitzel with cranberry compote, a long bath and a quiet night's sleep I walked the block to the conference to hear others complaining about their very warm accommodations in the conference hotel. After the meeting a nice walk about the town, a trip to the attached spa, and another wonderful meal on the rooftop restaurant, I feel asleep ... Repeat for another 4 days and add the downstairs whirlpool, waterfall shower and relaxation room - oh and a trip with a loner umbrella to the Swarvoski Museum on the outskirts of town arranged by the helpful staff (a fav for a modern art lover like me) I said goodbye. I most certainly will return.
I heard the breakfast was excellent though I didn't sample (on the days I had off it was hard to leave that comfy bed!)
