Graben Hotel, Vienna

Hotel is in a perfect location in the center of the shopping district just 1/2 block from St Stephens Cathedral and easy walking distance to many attractions and the U-Bahn which will take you anywhere you want to go in the city and beyond. The staff spoke English well, the room I was in was clean, large enough, with a good bed & bath room. Nothing special, but very acceptable. The price was excellent at ~ € 83/day (off season). The breakfast was very good with good options to accommodate everyone's taste. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Vienna on a budget.

I have stayed twice at this hotel. The first time I stayed with my father. The second time, we returned with the rest of the family. The location is excellent. The street is private but at the same time in the middle of all the action. Nearby is Saint Stephan's Cathedral, the best restaurants, cafes, shopping, historical places of interest, the metro (excellent transportation, and tourist friendly, took it to go to Schonbrunn Palace, museums, and other points of interests). In short, very well located for pedestrian interests. The decor of the rooms created an ambiance which made me feel I was living in early to mid 20th century Vienna. Unlike other hotels which look like any other modern hotels in the planet. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with all the necessary modern amenities. I specially liked sitting by the windows overlooking the street view. The food was excellent, with a very delicious and wholesome breakfast. The staff was very courteous, and helpful. On my next trip, I will definitely stay here again, and at the same time reminisce about the good times my family and I spent in this hotel.

The staff was fabulous and the location was amazing! What a great value for the location and the people were lovely. The breakfast was awesome and my mouth waters thinking of the 'brotchen'. The fact they spoke English, German and French was terrific. They left a torte in our room for our anniversary. They could not have been any kinder.

We stayed at this hotel October 16th 2006 through October 23rd 2006. We were here for our 10th Anniversary and a mini-college reunion. The rooms are smaller than your traditional American hotel but, the showers and baths beat most American hotels hands down. The beds were nice and the room safes were a great thing to have. The staff was very capable of answering all questions about museums, transit, and currency exchange or was willing to call someone who could. The breakfast was very eclectic with a great selection ranging from cold cuts, to cereals, breads, pates, cheeses, and American style scrambled eggs with ham. The lobby was terrific as a gathering point for our group and the adjoining restaurant was more than happy to deliver drinks and items in the lobby for us. The location is phenomenal right off the main shopping district and stumbling distance from the uban (subway). My next trip to Wien is going to include another stay at the Graben.

The location of the hotel was excellent, right off the famous shopping street, the Graben, and just a few blocks away from the Stephansdom. My room was at the top floor, a corner suite. It was clean and spacious. I was there from May 22-25, and took a 3 night package that they had offered. This included a 3 course meal at their restaurant one evening, a tastey breakfast each morning, and a 3 hour bus tour of the city with the highlight being a visit to Schonbrunn palace. I had a wonderful visit in Vienna which 3 nights was far too short to take full advantage of what that city offers, as well as enjoying the company that I met there. Petra Mehner Vancouver, BC, Canada
