Wonderful Stay at Mount Irvine Bay Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/11
Stayed at this hotel from 16th August - 19th August, 2011, with my husband and two small children ages (8 and 9) respectively. Upon arrival we were given complimentary fruit punch, check in was a breeze, kudos to Roxanne and Shinell who was very informative and helpful, we had no refridgerator in our room and upon request, one was promptly sent to our room at no additional cost. The food at the Sugar Hill restaurant was amazing, buffet style, and everything was tasty, the staff was very warm and welcoming. The POOL was AMAZING!!! my children did not want to leave the pool we had a breathtaking view of the pool and sea from our room, (rm. 46). I cannot fault anything about this hotel, if you are looking for peace and quiet, rest and relaxation, then I would definitely recommend this hotel. To Roxanne and Shinell, again thanks for making our vacation and enjoyable one and my family and I would definitely be back. Ken & Jen.

bad mannered staff running beach bar at mt Irvin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/08
The person in charge of the bar was very rude and took a very long time to serve us our food and drinks. Other stff members were creating problems for using the toilet facility on the beach. This was my first visit and it was shocking to see that how some tourists were treated by the members of staff in that organisation.

Poor Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/08
Reviews tend to generalize and label the entire establishment as good/bad. In writing my review I would use the word most...I travel to Tobago often enough on business and Mount Irvine Bay Hotel is hotel that my company does business with. What is distasteful about that establishment is that most of the staff at Mount Irvine Bay Hotel does not seem to grasp the concept of what is good customer service. One incident stands out in my memory where upon the arrival at the hotel the key for my assigned room was not working and because it was really early in the morning and maintenance were not on duty I was left to stand outside my room for close to 30 minutes. The hotel is way under staff which leads to cranky and burned out CSR. The hotel is also in disparate need of repairs and upgrading. However on my most recent stay at the hotel in May 2008 two members of staff stood out as professionals and as good examples to be emulated by other members of staff. Kudos to the front desk officer who was there late the night at my arrival and the lady in restaurant who took my dinner and breakfast order.

Mostly pleasant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/08
My family and I stayed at this hotel during 27-29th December, 2007. The hotel was clean and the environment was peaceful. I especially enjoyed the pool and the view of the sea from the bedroom. We had drinks at the bar on two nights and the server was very nice. My only complaint is that one female who worked at the bar had a terrible attitude. Upon arrival, we were given complimentary drinks, but instead of having a fruit punch to drink, my brother told the attendant at the desk that he would prefer a coke. When we arrived at the poolside bar, the server was exceptionally rude while giving us the complimentary drinks. I would have preferred to live without those drinks because that was the only thing that scarred my experience at Mt. Irvine. The hotel should consider having a box to receive comments and feedback from their customers. Customer service is underestimated by these types of hotels.

bad experience with the seller and certain staff member of the cafe on the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/07
I did not like the attitude of the staff on the mt.irvine beach because I noticed that they were siding with the woman who was selling the wraps with very high price compared to what you would get in the toen, and could not get on with other people on the beach. That created bad atmosphere on the beach and and staff joined in with this seller giving bad time to tourist from whom they were earning money from. I found the management were not intrested in resolving the ongoing bad atmosphere and my advice to other tourist is to stay away from this seller and you would be fine. it might not be a bad idea to bring in new staff from the hotel on daily basis to run the buisiness smoothly and make it an enjoyable stay for the time you are there.
