Mo'Bay roc's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/11
This place is wonderful. A great value. Keep in mind your on "Jamicia Time", never a hurry or urgency, and you will love your visit. Sometimes it rains- just wait. Its wonderful watching the sun come out in only a few moments! Sometimes sombody makes a mistake- It's comforting to watch everything work out so quickly- and most times everything goes as planned and it all comes together. Just let the staff know your wishes and if it can happen, they'll make it so..YES, it's that easy-

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/11
I sent an email to Sandals regarding our trip and I just received a generic apologetic email. I'm glad I spent so much money on a trip that sucked and all I received was that. They didn't even read the full email. Let me say first YES the airport is right there. The planes to fly right over the side of the rooms. The bathroom do not have windows so you can not try to drown out the noise. Here is the email I send customer service...or lack thereof. If you gonna stay at Sandals DON't choose this one. They took us all the way across to the other side of the resort, and at this point I was concerned because of the rain. Once we reached our destination they realized our room was not on that end and was taken back to the main part of the office. The man who walked us to our room tried taking us to a different room than what was on my paperwork. I finally got him to realize what room it showed and he agreed that I was correct. Once I slid the card to open the door there was a women in her bikini and a man in his shorts standing in the bedroom. Horrified by this we went back to the front office (still raining) We were told that it was a mistake and given a so called upgraded room with a nice view. The upgraded room was actually closer to the airport. Outside of our building was a huge water area where the grass had flooded. The first three days of being there there was mud on the sidewalks that was from the worker who had dug the Sod up to replace it. That room had no alcohol in the room. So I called the office for them to stock our room with alcohol and they said the would send someone up. About two hours later a guy came with diet cokes. I called back and then they said only concierge rooms have stocked bar. After the person brought our bags up, he waited for a tip. Since I've already been at Sandals I knew this is a no tipping Resort. He made me very uncomfortable so I tipped him. While in this room we quickly learned of the planes that would buzz the building every 15 min. I was mortified at this point with everything, rain and all. So I looked to see where we could go eat inside with air conditioner so we could cool down and stay dry. There was only one place with these options so we went to eat and was told we couldn't because of dress code (I was dressed up but wore blue jeans and heels). I figured because we've had so many problems just getting here they would be accommodating this one time so I went to go speak to the front desk. They didn't offer to accommodate and suggested we return to our room to change. Quite upset I walked back through the rain to change into a dress and heels to walk back through the nasty weather. We quickly realized that unlike Bahamas sandals, this one lacked options of Free things to do. This included the day and night. The dinner by the ocean that I booked for an additional 170$ was nothing like the one we had in Bahamas. First it was on the sand and there were constant people walking by. Stray cats are at an abundance and are sure to make themselves known at this point. The food was nothing you couldn't have gotten from the regular restaurants and less of it. The bugs are also out in force. But they do have a worker with a heavy fogger walking the area with his fogger and a mask. We were lucky enough to get caught in big clouds of the spray twice. My legs where bitten all up and was swollen the next day that I could hardly walk in my shoes. I have photos of how bad my legs where. Once back at the room we realized that no one had come to stock our refreshments and it was too late to tell anyone. The next day we went to the front desk to tell them we didn't receive soda yesterday and that we would like 6 cokes and three cranberry drinks in our room. Once back at the room we realized they once again did not get our request right. 2 cokes and 0 cranberry and 2 orange juice was all they left. Way to go and not even close

**HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/11
TRIP ENDED BEFORE IT STARTED. CUSTOMER SERVICE MADE A MISTAKE IN THE RESERVATION AND RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED! I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED, NO ACCOMODATIONS WERE MADE. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. I WAS UPSET THAT A MISTAKE WAS MADE IN TO THE BOOKING, BUT GOT ANGRY ONCE I LEARNED IT WAS COMPLETELY CANCELLED. BOTH MY PHONE AND EMAIL ADDRESS IS ON FILE, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. TO TOP IT OFF, NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, JUST AN APOLOGY. I WILL NEVER EVER STAY AT A SANDALS RESORT!! **PLEASE CONFIRM RESERVATION BEFORE DEPARTING OR BOOKING FLIGHT ALTHOUGH YOU MAY RECEIVE AN INVOICE AND VOUCHER INDICATING ALL IS WELL. ***

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/11
We went to Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon. It was disgusting. There were bugs inside the room. We woke up every morning with a new and exciting bug bite. This is probably because the doors weren't hung properly and there were huge cracks to the outside. The heat would have been bearable had our a/c unit actually worked. The food was disgusting. We really tried to find something good, and tried almost everything. The only good thing was breakfast. My husband and i both got seriously sick after eating at Oleander, which was disappointing because they have the best food. The resort was right next to the airport and the air planes were SO loud. I ignored this in other reviews and figured we'd adjust to the noise. This was not the case. Everytime I swore the planes got closer. Everything is not inclusive. Some beverages cost extra. They also put some snacks in your room which you have to buy. Forget about making reservations for anything. Even the restaurants were already booked when we got there. The resort doesn't share much information which comes off as an intentional thing. Yes, of course we complained and all we were told was that the resort was at maximum capacity. After being sick for 2 days, we finally decided to cut our trip short. We left 2 days early, should've left sooner.

Sandals Montego Bay - Heavenly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/11
My husband and I just returned from our first visit to Sandals Resort. We found all negative reports to be false. We were so happy we upgraded to Butler service . Our butler Mykal was so professional and personable that we had a positive feeling immediately. There isn't enough room to list the daily special things that Mykal set up and took care of for us. He seemed to deliver things before we even knew to ask for them. Mykal not only met expectations but seemed to always be going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. It was a trip full of wonderful surprises and a trip we'll never forget. Thank you Mykal. The restaurants were wonderful. The food not only tasted good but the presentation was excellent from room service to the fancy restaurants and everything in between. A special thanks to Mark, Nadine, Kirk and Sha Nae Nae. Our favorite spot was the beach by Bay Roc and it was so clean. The pools, grounds and rooms were kept immaculate and every day the beaches were raked. Jadane took very special care of the beach and greeted us by name every morning. Alicia helped us make plans for a return trip in October and we even set up plans for our friends to return with us. We've requested that Mykal again be our butler with his partner Damion and yes guys, our friends said YES so we'll see you in October as planned. We hope there are no hurricanes this coming season. Henry was a guard with a very pleasant attitude. It was such a pleasant stay and the only negative at all was a squeaky motor at the Bay Roc Pool hot tub. The airplane noise was not an issue at all. If you want to relax, be spoiled and pampered, Sandals Montego Bay is the place to go. Every single person we were in contact with had a smile and a friendly attitude which was so wonderful and made this trip exceptional. Penny and John

Better than we imagined
By KEVIN, 3/17/11
We read the reviews and had our doubts but there must be another resort these people go to because the only negative of our trip was we had to come back. We are already planning on our trip back “home”. We have family members who have been and they all loved it. My wife’s parents have been three times, her sister twice. We had a Bay Roc suite and it was amazing. We were treated like royalty from the time we were met at the airport. We snorkeled, made two dives, rode a glass bottom boat and learned to use a hobby cat and much more. We had never done any of it before. When you first see the view from the main bar, it blows you away. It was just an amazing vacation. The terrible service I keep hearing about is insane. I was on a first name basis, or nickname, with the guys from the dive shack and half the bar tenders. They were all great. And if you find her, she was at the main bar; get a Terry-Ann Special or a Jamaican Smile. We are planning a trip in 2012, a beaches trip in 2013 and another Sandals trip in 2014. And the airplanes really aren’t noticed after the first day, they aren’t that many a day and the resort came up with a cool deal of waving bye to them. We did one excursion, the Bob Marley cruise (a snorkeling trip, a boat cruise with lots of booze and a trip to Margaritaville). I can’t speak for others trips but ours was incredible.

We can't wait to book for next year!!
By CONSTANCE, 9/8/10
The only downfall I have is that our travel agent failed to notify us that the resort requests $300-500 to be charged to your credit card until you check out. This is for charges you make that are billed to your room during your stay (gift shop, phone calls, photo shoots, etc.). Whatever you don't use will be credited back to your card. Overall, our experience was great!! We had a concierge room with a personal assistant. It was amazing!! Every morning, we had a personalized spot on the beach just for my husband and I (flowers, champaigne, sand decor, towels). I cannot express how satisfied I was with my stay. The food was awesome!! I wish we could have taken it with us!! All pools were in working order, service was great. Please keep in mind that this resort is located near the airport so it gets a little noisy at times. However, it did not bother us. The maids are a little slow with getting the rooms clean, but they do a fantastic job. As I said before, overall, the trip/resort was great!!

Great Place
By Mick H, 8/29/10
Ok first off, neither my wife or I are seasoned travelers. I am a cop and she is a high school teacher and we have 3 kids, so if you want some great write up that you would expect from a pro stop reading now. This is a great place to stay for a week. The beaches are awesome, food is good, drinks are strong and the staff is half helpful (besides the attendant at the piano bar, he is a jerk). I have never had someone wait on me hand and foot, so I'm easily impressed. I currently live next to an air force base so the airplane noise never bothered me. If you are a working stiff like me and need to get away from everything this is your place. Lastly I was only asked one time to buy drugs and it was from a staff member!

never again
By dmlaml99, 8/11/10
I originally stayed at Beaches Boscobel, sister company to Sandals, 4 years ago when my sister got married and had a fabulous time, great service, had an awesome excursion. So, last November, (2009), my husband and I decided to get married at Sandals Montego Bay and have a wedding moon. Well it was quite a different experience to say the least. When we got there, they were very welcoming and upgraded us to Bay Roc estates which has fully stocked bar and first night we were trying to fall asleep and there was drilling going on in the next room, sounded like construction and was very loud, called the main office and they basically hung up on us and we couldn't get an answer from anyone about what was going on, finally quit after an hour or two. We also, had booked the Jimmy buffet Cruise, and it was basically the only excursion we could go on because we were there with my aunt and uncle which could not go on the more physically challenging excursions. Well we booked it when we got there and they cancelled it on the day of, day 4 of our trip. It was too late to go on anything else, so we got our money back, but still would have chosen something else if we would have known. We had our wedding, which was actually the only good thing about the trip and went well, but our scheduled complimentary wedding dessert, and complimentary wedding dinner, didn't come until I threw a fit. I told the waitress at the Cuchina Romana that we are scheduled to have wedding dinner and dessert at that time, and she assured me we would get our dessert and told my aunt several times and assured us that it was coming. It never came. So, I was in tears at this point, on my wedding day. It seems these people tell you what you want to hear just to appease you and don't follow through with what is promised. So I marched down to the main office and talked to the manager and she says, "what is it that you want?" and I said, I want things to go the way there supposed to go" so she offered me a free nights stay at Sandals (only good within one year and not valid with the current stay) or a 150 gift card at the gift shop. I took the gift card, because I didn't want to come back there. We went to the gift shop and walked through, browsing some items and accidently brushed up against a display of shot glasses and one of them fell off and broke and the girls who worked there acted like I had done it on purpose, just so I wouldn't have to buy the item They tried to make me pay for the item, despite, just being rude to me. Well I didn't pay for it. Well one night, we decide to go eat at the Sandals Inn, it shuttles people back and forth. We ate at the main restaurant, and we waited and waited for our drinks, and they don't take your order for an hour after we got there. It was terribly poor service. It was absolutely ridiculous. The overall trip had terrible service, you walk up to the bar for a drink, they act like they don't see you. They don't get tips, so your just on their time. They get to it whenever they are ready. I have been on much, much better vacations and I feel it was a waste of money. Also, don't ever leave the resort, besides excursions and the shuttle, because one day we took a bus into town and it was a nightmare. These people are in your face 24/7 and are very pushy to go into their shops and into their bus for fare. And they absolutely dont' leave you alone after telling them no several times.
