27 yrs. ago Surf Side was incredibly romantic with private cottages available, private garden areas and pathways, all gorgeously landscaped with an incredible view of the ocean! We've returned 4 times to visit the view. The only thing that has changed is some beach erosion, sadly, due to to hurricanes. But, last seen in 2005, I'd still reccommend highly.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PRIVACY...THIS IS IT

we had two separate rooms that made one private bungalow..it was just steps down to a very private beach. if we were to go back to bermuda, we would definately stay there again. only reason thet did not get a 5 was they ignored our do not clean room sign one day..not sure if it was intentional or accidental.

Nice location. Suite was clean and had a great view. OK, there are lots of steps to get to the beach, (but no problem for a 55 year old guy and his 44 year old bride), and that secluded private beach is worth it. Staff was very helpful. If you are looking for all the comforts of a big resort, this is not your place. If you are looking a quiet place to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves, this is your place.

A Place to Come Back To.

Have stayed twice at Surf Side and love the intimate cottages and incredible views. The restaurant, newly renovated and pool-side, is lovely and the food is beautifully prepared, served and presented, and very very good. The laid-back staff is attentive and friendly. This is a place for romance, with it`s private little hideaways, rustic small beach, and hidden trails. The bus is easily accessible to Hamilton (about a 15-minute ride), or taxis are plentiful. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. The rooms could use some updating, but all in all, for Bermuda (which is quite pricey) Surf Side provides a reasonable, casual and cozy alternative to the mega-resorts where you must dress to get through the lobby. Barefoot and bathing suit is the rule here! Loved it both times, and will be back again!
