atlantis
By ,
the slides are great for kids and the climate is beautiful. the prices are a little pricy in or out of the resort (example: gas-4.55 per gal) but otherwise this would be a great place to visit because it's absolutley worth it.

It is great

ive been to the bahamas one time in 2007,and i like the hotel very much. The best part a like about the hotel is that they have a fish tank in the lobby. That is soooooooo cool. The best place to be at is the bahamas just to bet away. alexis w.

Oh Boy

There is really nothing to dislike about the Beach Tower residence at Paradise Island. It's proximity to the beach is a huge plus. The pool right outside the building is one of the better ones at the resort. It's location off the beaten path, assures you of a little more privacy then you get in the central area of the hotel. It took us FIVE days to really see the whole hotel. We were rewarded by discovering the quaint old time Ice Cream Parlor near the main entrance. We'll be returning one of these days and are looking forward to it.

Excellent Vacation
By ,
A few days before leaving for this vacation, I started reading reviews and was almost ready to cancel the whole vacation. Fortunately, we did not. We had an amazing time. I'm not sure where the negative reviews came from but we did not encounter one negative issue during our 5 night stay. Upon check in- we were given a room on the 2nd floor of the West Tower. Yes, the room is certainly average but VERY CLEAN. Remember, you are not paying for a luxurious room (although you may want to book the Cove, where it is supposed to be over the top); you are paying for the luxury of being inside the resort. We went back to the reception and asked if there was a room available on a higher floor so that we could have a better view. They tried for well over 15 minutes and finally found an available room on the 5th floor. Yes, the restaurants in the hotel are more expensive than average and yes, the 15% gratuity on a 1.5 liter bottle of $6 water is outrageous, but again, you are paying for the access to the resort and all of the activities. There are, however, ways to manage expenses. In the Marina Village (which is still part of the resort), there is a quite good pizza place, a Johnny Rockets, Starbucks and a Jamba Juice. All a little more expensive than average, but definitely more affordable than inside the hotel. But if you walk across the street (outside of the resort), there is a small grocery store (I use the term loosely) where I was able to buy a gallon of water of $2.95. The resort itself is unbelievable. We have traveled all over the world and would rank this right up there with great vacations. All employees were very nice. If you approach with a smile, you certainly get a smile in return. Never had any of the negative experiences others cited. We would certainly go back again.

Stress Reliever
By ,
If you need a mental break from the hustle and bustle then this is the place. Beautiful rooms, views and service. Dissapointed with Dune restaurant, very expensive and not worth it a bit. Atlantis shuttle very convenient but couldn't wait to get back to the Ocean Club. I'm hooked!

August 2006 Ocean Club
By ,
We just got back and found OO Ocean Club to be wonderful. The service, views and cleanliness were all outstanding. The Dune Restaurant, however, has really slipped. We were last here in 2002, Dune was quite good. Not it is a massively overpriced room with great views and mediocre (at best) food. We had 2 dinners at Dune, and both were equally weak. I had the shrimp satay appetizer which had small shrimps, coarse (frozen?) breading and a nondescript sauce. The main course, the sirloin, was a $46 version of Tads Steaks in New York City (horse like meat for $8.99 in Times Square). Unbelieveably dry and flavorless. The sauce was sour and the mushrooms without flavor. If you want to enjoy the nice view have a drink at Dune's bar, then go just about anywhere else to eat- and save $250 per couple.
