Maria Cristina Hotel, Cuauhtemoc

We chose the Maria-Cristina because it is close to the Paseo Reforma and the Zona Rosa, yet its garden provides a quiet retreat from the busy city. Across the Reforma are many shops and restaurants, down the street is Chapultepec Park and lots of museums. Decent restaurant, good service. Excellent value for the price.

This is a wonderful hotel. I have stayed there at least 5 times and am never disappointed. You can't beat the price and it is a great value. THe garden is lovely after a long day in the city. The restaurant has very good food. There is a business center with computers at a very reasonable cost per hour. It's a short walk to the Zona Rosa and the Reforma. The staff is very helpful. You will find mostly smart travelers( like me:) ) and Mexican Business people. We usually take a Junior Suite for a few dollars more. This gives you a large very comfortable room. I highly recommend the Maria Christina.

I've stayed at the Hotel Maria Christina since 1984 and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean, although the beds are hard and the pillows even harder, the hotel has always provided exactly what I need when I am in Mexico City: safety, location and friendly courteous staff. It is but a short walk to Reforma and the Zona Rosa - which proximity makes up for the absence of any "night life" in the Hotel. There is a small comfortable bar in the quiet and attractive patio. The attached Spanish restaurant offers consistently tasty fare, served by waiters who have been in service there for many years. The Paella available on Fridays is excellent.

clean, well-run establishment with adequate restaurant and knowledgeable staff. Located a little away from things, but neighborhood appears safe enough to walk to the pink zone and avenida reforma.

Service at reception is first class. Staff is competent and experienced. Same at the restaurant enjoyed by many customers especially in the morning and evening. In the afternoon, many locals working in the area enjoy afternoon lunch. Rooms are large , especially the junior suites at a reasonable price for the location. Spacious, always clean, nice view on the top floors overlooking the garden. This garden is quiet and a wonderful place to relax at the end of the day. I also gave press conferences there with journalists from TV which illustrates it is a minimum noise area. The only reservation I have is the bar near the garden that can be noisy at night but some people enjoy the place... I have stayed at Maria Cristina nine times in the last 12 years and will be back next summer. Robert Roy

The building is comfortable and the staff (which has been the same for years) always remembers your name from one stay to the next. The garden is the perfect place to relax and recharge after a busy day.

It's missing wireless connection and there is no internet in the rooms, they told me that the feature is being worked on and will be available soon. Great place, great restaurant, nice people, great value.

We had a spacious two-bedroom room on the top floor adjacent to a patio with a wonderful view of the city. Crowded area, but great location. Room was clean, plain, with everything we needed.

Maria Cristina's staff is ready to accommodate the guest's every need. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed; the junior suites are more spacious with a nice view of the courtyard. The location is convenient to the Zona Rosa while being far enough away to eliminate any noise. Additionally it is in a safe neighborhood,with available taxis at the front door. The restaurant serves good food in comfortable surroundings, but the traveler who doesn't venture out to some of the other quality restaurants is missing a good opportunity. All of these factors combine to make this an extremely attractive value for any traveler. marshall

Very quaint and HISPANIC Hotel. Atmosphere and older structure make it a great place to stay.
