Las Palmas Beach Resort, Res Las Glorias

I read a lot of reviews about Las Palmas before leaving for our vacation. This was our first trip out of country together and the reviews were a little scary. After coming back from Las Palmas I wanted to add my own review. 1) The staff are wonderful. You could never ask for better, more friendly people. I almost felt guilty due to the amount of time and care they would spend on making sure you were taken care of. 2) The maids kept the rooms very clean and were very respectful of our stuff. We didn't bother with a safe as we could lock up our luggage but we didn't feel the need to and nothing was touched. Money, valuables, electronics were all left where we left them. 3) The beds were firm but not unusually firm. Both my husband and I got very good sleeps on the beds. 4) The food was ok. Breakfast was amazing but I wish there were more "light" options for people. There was a lot of meat and oil is so many of the dishes. It was my only significant complaint. Overall, we can't wait to go back!

This is a nice hotel and if you are an ordinary working-class person like me you will enjoy yourself. Lots of Canadians. The Mexican people are so friendly and nice to be around. The staff are all very professional and polite. The dancers are fantastic (kudos to Zorem!!) Cecilia is a beauty and what a nice dancer she is. Drinks are good, such as Dirty Monkey, Oasis, etc,, You will have fun here and it is close to everything. Buy your liquor at the corner store (La Playa) it is so cheap.

We were a group of 8 from San Francisco and booked into The Las Palmas through Mexicana.com. We got back last week after having a super time and just can't wait to go back again. The entire staff was so gracious and hospitable to us. Every one of them in their own sweet way made us so welcome. My sister used a walker and everyone was so helpful to her. The hotel could do with some updating but we were hardly ever in our rooms. The bed linen and towels were clean and the beds were made up every morning. The maids provided all the essentials for the room. Breakfast was the best meal of the day and so was the delicious Mexican coffee served around 5:30 pm everyday. It was a great treat and definitely should not be missed. The meals were OK but there was so much to choose from if you did not like some items. The staff were very accommodating. We had a very nice waiter, Pedro by name who loved to wait on us. There were others too who were nice, Adrian, Vicente, etc. The Manager, Manuel was such a great guy and was always coming to us to see if he could help us in any way. Aurea, the PR gal was very sweet and was raised in California and often stopped to talk with us and ask us if we had any preferences, etc. Also at the Coincerge we met a beautiful lady, Carmen by name who was just so wonderful. She was very helpful to us too. All the folks at the bar were terrific. You could have any drink of your choice. Do try Las Palmas drink. Tips do make a big difference! There was a show every night and they were mostly very enjoyable. The Activities Director, Alex, does such a wonderful job. I saw him there every day of the week. He also conducts all the activities by the pool. We had to tell him to speak in English as our Spanish is almost nil. He was very cooperative and speaks fluent English. All in all we had such a great trip and I would go back in a flash. Thanks to all the wonderful staff of Las Palmas for giving us such a memorable time at Las Palmas by the Sea.

Dislike: No fridges in the room as advertised. No clock radios in the room as advisertised. You have to pay for all drinks after 11:00 p.m. All inclusive? One bottle of water per room. You have to refill it yourself. You didn't always get your bottle of water and were told there was a store just down the street. All Ocean View rooms do not have balconies as advertised in travel books. Wine tasted like it was just bottled and not allowed to age. Likes: The waiters at the bar were friendly and helpful. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We have been going to the Las Palmas resort for 10 years now and were going to miss a year. It was ALL our kids would talk about. When are we going back to Mexico ? We caved and are going again. Our two boys have grown up going to this resort. The same employees are there year after year and are the BEST. Will bend over backwards to make you stay enjoyable. The breakfast buffet is our favorite meal of the day. They make the omlette's in front of you. Daily fresh fresh fruits and juices. They have a kids pool, so you don't have to worry about disturbing folks that don't understand kids fun. The rooms aren't super fancy, but we are hardly in our rooms.

My husband and I stayed at Las Palmas by the Sea when we went to Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon. The resort is not the most luxurious you will find in Puerto Vallarta, but the people who work there are the most friendly people we found. They work very hard to insure that your stay with them is perfect. Every meal has plenty of options for everyone, the drinks are great, and the nightly shows are always entertaining. Las Palmas by the Sea also sits on the best strip of beach on Puerto Vallarta. We visited a few other resorts when we were on excursions and we commented many times that the beach at Las Palmas was the best that we had seen. The only negative comment I have about the resort is the bed and pillows, which are very hard. We did ask for different pillows and they were right there with new ones to try to make us more comfortable. If you want friendly faces and service, this is the resort to go to! Oh and reserve a spot it in the grill at least one dinner there, you will not be disappointed!!

Been staying at the Las Palmas now since 1996 and love it, the staff are great, the rooms can use a little up dating but then again how much time does one spend in the room when on vacation, Going back for the first 2 weeks of April 2008 and cant wait... Donnie from the east coat of Canada..

I loved everything about this resort (except the bed but who really needs to sleep on vacation.) The entire staff was amazing made you feel like you were apart of their family. Next time I go to Puerta Vallarta I will be staying at Las Palmas its close enough to everything that I wanted to do. Thanks for making my first visit very memorable.

This hotel wasn't good! The rooms were disgusting and dirty..beds were rock hard! and some even had bed bugs..it took all day for your rooms to get cleaned. The food was gross and basically the same thing each and every day! not cool!!! The Jacuzzi wasn't hot any of the days we were there and by the end of each day it would have a disgusting film on the top of the water. The pools weren't deep at all! The entertainment was so loud and awful. Learn how to dance people! and I am so sick of hearing the song, "With the hand hand with the other hand..." It was everywhere!!

The staff is very accomadating and the food is excellent! We love the bartenders and the variety of drinks. The sunset at Las Palmas is something to behold! We've gone to Puerto Vallarta since 1996 and will continue to stay at Las Palmas.
