Park Royal Cozumel All Inclusive, Adolfo Lopez Mateos

There is no tennis court. There is a small beach, but you cannot swim, since you cannot enter the water because of rocks. The children under age of six are not free. You have to pay $40 per day for a four yer old child, who does not eat that much, nor drink. Internet only works very early in the morning and very, very late at night. There is no space on the territory to walk or move, no any space to walk on a ten feet beach. The food in the main caffeteria for dinner is not edible, and the children are not allowed to eat in decent restaurants. Unlike other resorts, there are only two restaurants to choose from. Swimming pool was closed when we were there, except for childrens pool, so even swimming was not available. Inside the rooms, elevators, and other places it wa so cold we ahd to wear sweaters. Restaurants were closed and only opened three times a day. In others all inclusive resorts, something was always opened. We couldnt take the food for the baby to the room for the night, or a drink outside the restaurants. The towel service opened later and closed earlier than scheduled, and sometimes nobody was there even in the middle of the day.

Although hotel’s room was clean and nice smell, however we got bite by mosquitoes around the pools, shore, bar, lobby, and everywhere in the resort. Besides, only one restaurant open for breakfast, and lunch that you won't get much choices. Another disappointment was this hotel didn’t maintain their swimming pool especially the 2 pools near by the shore. If you use to stay in a hotel at 4 starts and above, then you won't like to stay in Park Royal because this hotel always has someone sell time-share, and tour packaging plus waiter service in buffet didn’t change plates often as it should be.

Children under the age of six are not free. The hotel's gounds are made of stones (rocks), so children cannot run around barefoot; even if they wear shoes, they can't run, becaues they might fall and hurt their knees. The children are only allowed in two eating places -- a buffet that sometimes serves afwul food, and Mexican restaurant that doesn't even have children's menu. The service there is pretty awful.

i liked this resort because thet have very nice bar tenders and workers they have nice clean pools and the rooms are very clean and nicely organized the food is very delicous and the kids club has a slides it is a very nice hotel a highley recommend the only part i didnt like was they dont have room service

Loved the people, relaxing atmosphere and cleanliness. Food is not 4-star but who cares? I have read all of the reviews to date and just wanted to add that my wife and I have stayed at many of the all-inclusives on the island but have elected to return to Park Royal the last two years, and will be going back in Feb 11 with 8 other couples and a couple of their kids. We have been when it was just the two of us, and also with all of our kids and grandkids (16 total folks went in 09). We thoroughly enjoy the staff who are there to make your stay enjoyable, love the relaxing days and nights (most of the time with a drink of choice in hand), enjoy visiting other places on the island for shopping and sight seeing, playing golf and just meeting the visitors at the resort. Several folks complain about the food but it is very fresh, with variety, and often times interesting (can't say I've seen beans served at breakfast before our first trip but...) There is always something to do if you just join in and they have a wonderful program for the young 'uns if any make the trip with you. I'll conclude by recommending that you read the reviews so you'll have an idea of things to do (and watch out for) but, for our money, we just can't beat it...

I went and stayed in March 08 and loved the place!! Going back in a week and was just reading some updates... Some people are very picking and me being one of them.. Just think this place was great for the price... See ya on July 8th amigos

The staff was great with us!! That is until be got back from a night out to find that someone had made a room key, let themselves into our room, and STOLE our charging I Phones. When we informed the front desk security was dispatched to search our room at 3:00 AM. When checking up on the situation the next morning they in turn searched our room again!

My wife and I just came back a few days ago and look very much to be back soon. There really is nothing to say bad about the Park Royal, the entire staff were friendly and there service was excellent, even with a couple of small problems with our room, service and maintence was there within 5 minutes and had the problems resolved with no re-occurances. The food was excellent and the weather and water conditions were outstanding for snorkeling or diving. Did go on the Jeep Expedition which would recommend to everyone, The guides were not only excellent and knowledgable, but were friendly and fun to be aroung. Already making plans to go back in October to meet up with new friends that are returning also.

My experience at this resort was so bad that I packed my bags and vacated the premises within 24 hours of arriving. With no other reservation in place, I spent over $300 a night to stay at another resort in the area – and was grateful to do so. My room bore only a slight resemblance to that posted on their website. It was colorless, artless, and I would say sterile except for the bits of grime and musty smell throughout. There was no iron or ironing board and my request for one was completely ignored. The dinner buffet was truly disgusting in both it's variety and quality. The meat was dry with caked-on gravy and the lettuce in the salad bar was brown and wilting. A pile of soggy chicken nuggets lay in a bed of grease in one warming pan and stale, shrunken French fries lay untouched in another. Even the guacamole and the nachos– a staple at most Mexican resorts – were soupy and inedible. The following morning, I took a cold shower after waiting over 10 minutes for any hot water to make its way to my faucet. I skipped breakfast altogether after surveying the watery eggs and dry tortillas and made my hasty escape. When I explained my reason for leaving to the front desk representative, he shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Nobody's perfect." Not only would I not recommend this resort, I strongly recommend that it be inspected, closed, and completely revamped before re-opening.
