Park Royal Cozumel All Inclusive, Adolfo Lopez Mateos

i liked this resort because thet have very nice bar tenders and workers they have nice clean pools and the rooms are very clean and nicely organized the food is very delicous and the kids club has a slides it is a very nice hotel a highley recommend the only part i didnt like was they dont have room service

My family and i got just got back from Cozumel and stayed here at the Park Royal. It was amazing. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was so friendly, they always greeted us by name especially Humberto and Luiz. The hotel is very clean. Our rooms were very clean. Everyday we had made beds, clean towels. The ocean view was wonderful. Our room was on the 9th floor with the ocean view and every morning we could see the cruise ship docking. We could not hear it but we could see it. It was so nice. You have your own private beach with a bar and a swimming pool and a snack area. The beach is across the street but there is a tunnel on the hotel grounds that takes you over there so you do not have to worry about the traffic. They had different activities through out the day. We didn't do alot of them cause we left the hotel to do different things which reminds me there are taxis everywhere but they are a little pricy. We ended up renting a car for the price of paying for a taxi to take you places. I was told by an islander that the reason the taxis are expensive is cause of the hotel we were staying at. The higher price hotel you stay at the higher fare your going to pay. The food was good not the best. Every night its a different theme. Like Mexican, International, Chinese, breakfast had a good variety. They have an Italian restaurant that goes by reservations but unfortunetly we did not get to try it. We heard good things about it. What i liked the most is that the staff is not bugging you to do a tour like on our trip to Cancun. This time we told them no and that was it we were not bothered with that at all. We had such a wonderful time. I would recommend this hotel. While we were sitting in the airport on our return flight we heard so many complaints about the hotels people stayed at. I looked at my husband and we both smiled and said "Ours was great!"

The staff was great with us!! That is until be got back from a night out to find that someone had made a room key, let themselves into our room, and STOLE our charging I Phones. When we informed the front desk security was dispatched to search our room at 3:00 AM. When checking up on the situation the next morning they in turn searched our room again!

Just returned with my wife and kids 7 and 9. We had the best time and I will break it down for you 1 -10 10 being the best. Service - 10 flawless. Kids club - 10 Claudia is the best my kids could come and go as they pleased and chose to spend more time clubbing it water polo, scavenger hunts in the water and on land, activities galore. Food - 9 the people that complain about the food are crazy. The choices are great and the mexican restaurant is awesome. Rooms - 9 rooms are great a little small but nice, we did'nt spend much time in the room. Beds are fine not as soft as my own bed but come on, I'm not buying it, i'm using it for a week. Beach/pools 10 I loved the size of the beach small but awesome snorkeling. The fact that the road was between the hotel and the pool sounded like it was going to be a downe,r but it's not the case there is a tunnel that goes under the road and you don't even realize there is a road. We will return for sure and if you booked this hotel look forward knowing you found a real gem.

Loved the people, relaxing atmosphere and cleanliness. Food is not 4-star but who cares? I have read all of the reviews to date and just wanted to add that my wife and I have stayed at many of the all-inclusives on the island but have elected to return to Park Royal the last two years, and will be going back in Feb 11 with 8 other couples and a couple of their kids. We have been when it was just the two of us, and also with all of our kids and grandkids (16 total folks went in 09). We thoroughly enjoy the staff who are there to make your stay enjoyable, love the relaxing days and nights (most of the time with a drink of choice in hand), enjoy visiting other places on the island for shopping and sight seeing, playing golf and just meeting the visitors at the resort. Several folks complain about the food but it is very fresh, with variety, and often times interesting (can't say I've seen beans served at breakfast before our first trip but...) There is always something to do if you just join in and they have a wonderful program for the young 'uns if any make the trip with you. I'll conclude by recommending that you read the reviews so you'll have an idea of things to do (and watch out for) but, for our money, we just can't beat it...

We just returned a week ago and i wanted to provide an unbiased review. Let me say that i was a skeptic. I read most of the reviews and was prepared for the worst. Arriving at the resort was easy and we purchased the round-trip pass when we booked. I had read that the time share folks were very intrusive. To be honest, we were not even approached!! Not once. We were approached by a man when we first arrived, but he simply introduced himself, offered us a drink, and then left us alone. Most everyone speaks English, but they appreciate if you at least try to speak a little Spanish. The bell boys carry US dollars, so if you need change, find one of them. Do NOT get excited about the food. While it was OK, it was not spectacular. Lunch is easy as you can get a hamburger or nachos..but the buffet is not great. The Italian restaurant is awesome and if we ever go back, we will eat there every night. The Mexican restaurant was very disappointing, nothing like the Italian..neither in service or food quality. The pools are nice. They probably could have been skimmed a little more often, but it was fine. Suggest you pack some cheap floats and blow them up when you arrive. We just left ours with another family staying there. Also suggest you purchase "Bubba Kegs" for your drinks. Tip the bartenders first thing and they will not only remember your drink, but will make it a little "better". Rooms---lets just say a little disappointing. We requested King size bed and of course, none available..but then had 2 twin size beds. NOt a show stopper for us, but typical hotel beds, a little hard and not much blanket. The room A/C is tough to get right. We burned up the first night, but by the 2nd night we froze. The rooms were OK though. We had hot water, but had to wait a little while for it. Most things we requested we got; an iron and ironing board, extra pillow. We did not mind the cruise ships. They are only visible from one pool, not from the main pool, and we could not see them from our room. The cruise docks are a pretty good ways down the street, so we were not bothered by other tourists. There were plenty of lounge chairs around and finding a nice spot for the day was not difficult. All in all- we will probably try some other locations. But we would go back knowing what we know now. The food is the biggest issue. Its fresh and there is some variety. You can certainly get full from eating your meal. But if you are expecting the food to be the best part of the trip, you will be disappointed.

I went and stayed in March 08 and loved the place!! Going back in a week and was just reading some updates... Some people are very picking and me being one of them.. Just think this place was great for the price... See ya on July 8th amigos

June 2010 - We stayed 5 nights and had a great time. The pools and beach were beautiful. You could snorkel right at the hotel and see beautiful, brilliantly colored fish. The resort was clean and the staff courteous. The food was just okay, but I've never had better than okay at any of the other 4 Cozumel resorts I've tried. The only really bad thing about the resort was the bed. I began dreading going to bed each night and don't think I could have stayed one more. The bed was as hard as sleeping on the floor. I tried several nights to sleep in a chair. With an upgrade to the mattresses, I would be back there in a heart beat.

My wife and I just came back a few days ago and look very much to be back soon. There really is nothing to say bad about the Park Royal, the entire staff were friendly and there service was excellent, even with a couple of small problems with our room, service and maintence was there within 5 minutes and had the problems resolved with no re-occurances. The food was excellent and the weather and water conditions were outstanding for snorkeling or diving. Did go on the Jeep Expedition which would recommend to everyone, The guides were not only excellent and knowledgable, but were friendly and fun to be aroung. Already making plans to go back in October to meet up with new friends that are returning also.

My wife and I have been to Cozumel 4 times. We have stayed at the Iberostar 2 times and once on a cruse, but this time we decided to stay at the Park Royal to save a bit of money, but after this stay I am more than happy to spend a few hundred dollars more to stay at a more enjoyable hotel. Pros - The hotel was very close to town so cab cost was relatively inexpensive. - The pools and swim-up bars were really nice - The snorkeling just off of the beach at the hotel is absolutely amazing! Cons -If you want to use their fitness center, that is an extra charge. -It is extremely noisy all night long, it sounds like people are screaming just outside your hotel room constantly. -The food was a bit bland and overcooked, as well as not very enjoyable. The main restaurant (the buffet) was only good at breakfast, and the only other two restaurants (mexican and Italian) were just ok. -The beach is very small and kind of dirty. All of the huge cruise ships dock directly in front of this hotel, so this might be the cause of some of the pollution at this beach. In addition, when you look out the balcony of your room all you ever see is big cruise ships. -We booked our room 4 months in advanced and booked a king bed. When we arrived, we checked in and went to our room to find that it was two doubles and the room smelled like mold. When I went back down to the front desk to find out why I was not in the room that I requested, The front desk manager acted like he didn't really care and told me that there is no guarantee as to what kind of room you will get and that when you request a king bed it is like a suggestion of the type of room that you would like, but there is no guarantee that it will be the type of room available. Im sorry, but that is a load of crap!!! He told me that he would "put us on the list for a king room." Well, 3 days into our trip, I went back to the front desk to find out when we would be getting the room we requested and the clerk at the desk said that my name was not even on the waiting list. I was infuriated! Eventually, they got us into a room with a king bed, but it took way too much stress and frustration to just get what we expected to have when we booked the room! -THE BIGGEST CON OF ALL, was the fact that every time you go anywhere in the hotel, you always have people trying to pressure you to spend money on something!!! This hotel is really big on selling timeshares and they will weasel you into spending almost an entire day to listen to their high pressure sales presentation, and if you are not being bothered by the timeshare people, then you are being bothered by the excursion people. This trip was intended to be restful, stressless, and rejuvenating, but by the end of the trip we were more excited to be going home than when on our way to Mexico!!! That is just sad!
