The Fairmont Acapulco Princess, El Pueblito del Revolcadero

I stayed in this hotel many years ago. I had a wonderful experience, great service, excellent staff. given another chance, would surely love to go back.

My daughter, son, and I spent three nights over a November weekend at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess. The Fairmont is on an attractive, but crowded beach minutes away from the airport, but a lengthy and expensive taxi drive away from downtown. If you are familiar with the high standards of service at Fairmont hotels you will be disappointed with the Fairmont Acapulco Princess. The service is typical for Mexican hotels with high charges for everything, frequent requests for tips, and indifferent service at the front desk. By far the biggest surprise, however, is a policy, not stated at reservation, that no food or drink may be brought in from outside the hotel for "hygenic reasons." The result is that rather than being able to buy a case of water at the Walmart across the street from the hotel to keep the kids hydrated, you will be coerced into paying extortionate prices for bottled water. Build this into the budget for your stay, or, better yet, stay at one of many other Acapulco hotels that does not have this policy.

This place was wonderful. Yes the current can be strong especially in the morning but it is a very beautiful place. I met a lot of people and the staff was wonderful. Everything was clean, beautiful and the people were very friendly and helpful.

this place is awesome for familys with young kids or a newlywedd couple, ive been coming for years and years with my family, they offer 6 pools and a lagoon that has a slide which was huge when i was little now haha not so much, as far as the stay theres always something you can do if you dont want to leave the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants chula vista breakfast buffet is awesome,the rooms are comfortable and and ive been in all types of their rooms except the top floor suites. they still allow you up there which makes for awesome pictures of the coastline and sunset. if you like to golf they have 2 top notch golf courses that can be windy.. they have a teen hang out place that has really come a long when ive seen the hotel gradually change its been quite amazing the transformation they have done it a few short years. they also have a arcade room that has definitely been upgraded they have day time activities for kids if you want a little alone time. like painting turtle races bingo, group activities like volleyball and boardgames the only thing that they should up grade which is still a nice place is their "club" its a small little salsa joint that usually gets semi busy on weekends they have a mini movie theatre set up that can be inside or outside this hotel has a lot to offer for all types of people can get a little expensive but now that ive paid for the trip a couple times i believe its more than well worth it

The Princess has a great location away from the city. We wanted more a more relaxing environment than the throngs of people in the city. It was clean, comfortable and the service was great. The prices were high for meals, but we preferred to stay at the resort rather than fight the traffic into town. The beach was pretty and clean, but too crowded with outside vendors and the beach cabanas were too difficult to acquire. Only 66 available and you had to be up at 6 a.m. to get one and then you couldn't see the ocean from it anyway. We really enjoyed the grounds, they were beautiful and the pools were great too. The pools didn't stay open long enough for our liking. 10 p.m. would have been better than 8 p.m. I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind paying a lot for meals.

we took my parents and our little girl of three there last october and had the best time. The pools are great and the beach is lovely,only problem with that is the current is very strong and takes your feet away,but good for belly boarding. If i had the money i would live in the hotel.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several years ago and had a wonderful experiance. The staff was very accommodating, our room was clean and spacious, the food was exquisite and we really enjoyed sitting in the lobby outdoor lounge at night and having drinks with live music. We hired a guide the first day and that turned out to be the best thing we did all trip long. It cost us about $50 US per day but it was well worth it. Our guide was very knowledgable, courteous, and picked us up at the hotel promptly at 8 AM every day. I recommend the guide approach to anyone even if you've been there before and know the area. In past times, I had rented a jeep and did my own driving. It is much more enjoyable with a guide that knows where to go and what to do. Acapulco is a trip everyone needs to make at least once in life!

What I loved about the hotel was it had a beautiful view,five-star food,and how close it was to the beach.I loved it so much and I would love to take my kids there someday because they would love to see all of the exotic things that I saw.I liked how the room was clean and comfortable.I thought the trip was magical and my big dream to go to your hotel came true.

Just came back from 6 days at this place. Absolutely wonderful service, cleanliness, facilities, and location. What's not to love. Would definitely go back.

We were enchanted by the Acapulco Princess. The atmosphere is relaxed and very much like a tropical oasis; the decor and the menagerie on site contribute to a well conceived idea. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed and the view was unmatched, I'm sure. The wrap around veranda really "made it", views of the ocean and the golf course under overhangs just large enough to provide some shade and sliding plantation shutters to allow you to adjust your privacy. This facility is a little tired and can use some paint and some power washing, but now that its off-season perhaps that is what they have planned..? Food offerings were many and we enjoyed our meals there.The birds are pests at the outdoor restauants and the hotel should look into a humane way to get rid of them...maybe one of those ultrasonic devices to shoo them away? Beach service was Excellent. The vendors are persistent, but if you sit in the center rows of the cabanas it is easy to ignore the vendors. The spa was just great- highly recommend it. Location makes taking in-town activities somewhat expensive as round trip cab fare is $30 US, but bundling with several outings at once is reasonable and can allow for a fine day or two of exploring for around $75 - $100 US depending on where you go and, hiring a private driver can help a lot as they will sometimes reduce their price if they are working for you for multiple days. Would have appreciated better notice regarding current closures of restaurants and activities during off season. Enjoyed interesting trivia tid-bits on the daily weather forecast card and wish we had noticed them earlier. Disappointed that the beach was not cleaner, but that could have been due to recent rains, however constant black flag warnings were a little off-putting. Safety-first, true, but there were times when the sea was relatively calm and swimming could have been allowed.
