A Regal Name, However Plain
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/06
If you have never been to The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, but are planning a trip, don't get your hopes up too high. The Ritz, Pomp, and Opulance that comes to mind when you think of The Queen of England and probably are accustomed to if a Fairmont regular is simply not found here. This is a nice hotel don't get me wrong. It is just plain by Fairmont standards. It does not deliver the impressive lobbies and appearance of say The Empress in Victoria or the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec. It reminds you of a supersized polished up Holiday Inn. The location is good. The access to the underground shopping world in Montreal is also attractive giving you access to an enormous shopping experience without ever stepping outside. The hotel is clean and comfortable. However Montreal really is not. The service is good and is strong as is the standard set very high by Fairmont Hotels. The staff and concierge very professional and helpful. The rooms were modest, comfortable, and roomy, but not absolutely the best the Fairmont has to offer. The food was good and it was a nice place. The pool was rather small, and in the basement. I would have to say if I ever went back to Montreal, which is unlikely, I might take my chances and try out another high end hotel. It was a Fairmont, and that had some things going for it. It just wasn't as Queenly as I had anticipated.

Prepare to be pampered
By Chris, 6/13/06
An excellent hotel. Staff actually wants you to enjoy your stay. Rooms and corridors are clean & well lit. Rooms are a touch on the small side, but excellently appointed.

The best on Montreal
By Yahoo User, 1/8/06
Right in the middle of downtown on Rene Levesque Blvd. Could not ask for more. Right on top of the central station for both subway and trains. Awesome. A chauffer was even waiting for me when I arrived in Montreal. It is a four star hotel so is not cheap, but the diamonds are well earned. The best hotel I've ever stayed during a conference. I usually don't eat dinner at hotels. Even at pricey hotels I end dissapointed, but I ate at Le Montrealais all the time. If something is not on the menu, they will do it anyways, how you wanted and the way you wanted. The best food I've eaten at a hotel in a long time. That never happened before except for Hotel Rochester in Buenos Aires or during the good days at the Intercontinental in Caracas. I felt like I went back in time to the good old days of the Hilton in Caracas or a four star hotel in Rio or BA when staying at a hotel was more than a simply overnight stay but a whole experience. Multilingual staff. I even spoke Spanish. Simply Superb.

For Montreal's Nightlife
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/05
In the hart of Montreal. During a Formula 1 Grand-Prix long week-end, The Queen Elizabeth was a very nice stay. Service was A1 and everything was clean, but it's mostly the location that is stellar.

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/05
Let's see, one night stay was $219(ca)for one small room with queen size bed, parking $24/day, no breakfast, their snack bar's a joke $4 for Snickers candy! Rooms are small, on their fliers you can see they advertise internet access, yea, for $14/day extra! Only good thing about it is the location, really close to downtown, next time I'm there I will go to shreaton or mariott, at least they don't try to scam everyone in every possible way.

Downtown Montreal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/05
The hotel is very central. A short walk to St Catherines, Old Montreal, Bell Centre, US Embassy etc. Parking is a rip off $22 a night!!! Hotel seems to host lots of conventions, graduation parties etc. Hence it gets busy. Excellent connections to Metro (downstairs in hotel)

Nice warm and excelent location.
By Rocio, 7/7/05
I liked the location that Queen Elizabeth has, the access underground to the stores, restarants, etc, mostly in winter that is so cold, and the room just had a little smell of cigar just that, but we had a good time and excelent location.
