Great Stay
By ,
We went as a family to see attractions in the Ottawa area. We picked this hotel as part of a package from Capitol tickets. The rooms were spacious clean and comfortable. The price was right. In addition the kids loved the wave pool and water slide. What a great way to relax after a day of sight seeing. We also liked the buffet breakfast offered for additional cost every morning. We would recommend this hotel for any family looking for reasonable lodging with a few extras.

Caring staff makes stay a pleasure!
By ,
A misunderstanding about a room was attended to swiftly and resolved with lightning speed by a super staff. I felt their concern to be genuine. C. & M. ( their initials ) went above and beyond to accommodate my needs, seeing to my families satisfaction. The water park was clean and refreshing, we all enjoyed ourselves. I do recommend this property, and aIready have. I also suggest you speak directly to the hotel staff if you need questioned answered correctly. The internet travel agencies can be confusing and misleading.

WILL NEVER GO BACK
By ,
We paid 200.00 for a room that looked at a cement wall in the indoor pool area. Chlorine smell was terrible...towel in bathroom was completely stained and manager said nothing. No air flow. Felt like I was tossed in the basement. For 200.00 you would think they would offer a continental breakfast??? Ya right. I emailed complaint to head office...got a letter of apology in the mail. Offered no compensation what so ever. Next time we will be staying right next door at Best Western. Rooms are almost half the price.

I`ll never go back...you can`t pay me enough!!
By ,
Where do I start??!!The staff at the front desk were VERY abrasive and unhelpful! I wanted help with my luggage, which they never got around to helping with,( upon arriving), they were slow booking me in, and finding A QUIET room was very difficult. Don`t stay here if you`re looking for a good nights sleep, ( won`t happen). There were children running up and down the hallways until 11:00 pm. I told the staff, they ignored me. Anyhow, the buffet is disgusting, they took forever to clear the plates, my husband got soo mad, he got up and gave the cashier the dirty plates.OH, and the pool was barely supervised, ( the lifeguards were busy in the backrooms twirling and flat ironing their hair)...Very disapointing stay. No ice in the ice machine as well...

Hotel's nice, but buffet was horrible
By ,
The overall hotel and waterpark were very nice, comfortable and resonably priced. The girl at the front desk was not overly helpful upon check in, but no other complaints on the stay. The breakfast however, was basically 15.00 per person for toast and cold food. I stayed at the Travelodge and went to the Breakfast buffet at 10am. The left overs (which is all we had), were cold pancakes, mushy eggs, and fruits that had been cut and sitting out since first thing in the morning.,. the bananas were brown. The cheese had developed a hard crusty film on the outside. There was no jam left for the toast, so I ended up having some cold bacon, and a piece of toast with butter. When I got the bill.... which was 29.35 (we were two, and also had coffee.) I complained to the waitress who said that she was sorry, but the bill had already been done. Needless to say, I will never have their breakfast buffet again! especially if I want to eat after 9am.

Dissapointed
By ,
My family stayed in this hotel for two nights primarily because of the water park. We knew this would be a highlight for our kids so we were looking forward to it. We arrived from a long drive at 4pm and proceeded to get ready to hit the water park. After walking past the front desk in all our swiming gear we were informed that the water park was only open from 6pm till 10pm. Needless to say we were disappointed that the water park was only avaible a short part of the day. Also if you do not want to be woken up before 8:00am by housekeeping staff make sure you put out the do not disturb sign. Front desk staff could use some training in how to better treat customers. Their demeanor and attitude left much to be desired. Other than the above the room was good size, clean and the beds very comfortable. Great parking and a good location.

Definitely for families with kids!!
By ,
Stayed two nights in April 2007. The room was very clean with a king sized bed and a queen hide-a-bed. Room had a microwave, small fridge, coffeemaker and a sink which was very convenient for us since we ate our lunch in the room. There are rooms with balconies overlooking the waterpark. We asked to be placed in a back room not facing the waterpark because we were afraid of noise level coming from the waterpark. The indoor waterpark has a huge salt-water wave pool, a waterslide, a jacuzzi and a kiddie pool with umbrella like fountain. The wave pool was great. The jacuzzi was very small. The kiddie pool seemed to be very appreciated by the little ones. The water slide was quite popular as well. If we counted well, there are about four lifeguards stationed at all times. The drawback of the waterpark is: - it was a little too cold in the waterpark for our liking. - The chairs and tables are too far from the view of the pool. There are six lounge chairs which everyone hurried to get, reserved by placing their towels on them all day long and half the time they weren't even present at the waterpark. Towels at the waterpark are in abundance. The lifeguards were asleep most of the time. Unsmiling and not at all friendly. We've been to a waterpark in Niagara Falls and the staff there was simply amazing!! Overall our stay was pleasant. Had a rate of 109$ per day plus tax. If we wanted a cold breakfast, we had to pay 119$ per day plus tax per two people. Breakfast for my son would have been an additional 8.95$ plus tax per day - for a cold breakfast no thanks! Hope this review helps. Have a good trip.

POOL ONLY OPEN SOMETIME
By ,
The Wave Pool is not open all the time, Saturday is the only day it is open for the full day. Sunday it was closed from 12:00 - 4:00 which was dissappointing because we were looking to relax around the pool for the afternoon. The hot tub was closed down Sunday evening at 6:30. The food in the hotel is expensive and the buffet breakfast was cold. My husband tried to talk to the Manager but he didn't bother to return the calls - so they simply don't care. I would only stay there again if it was a Saturday but would definitely not eat at the hotel.

Can't wait to return
By ,
What an awesome hotel and location. Its pretty much off Hwy 417 and no difficulty finding. The service was excellent and so were the rooms. The waterpark was my favourite part of my stay. I also enjoyed getting a morning newspaper everyday. I will definitely return to this location again when I return to Ottawa! I also enjoyed the Wireless Internet in the rooms.
