No refunds - nasty hotel policy
By ,
This hotel was not willing to cancell my room reservations (I had 3 rooms). I called like 3 weeks in advanced and they told me that is not their policy to cancell the rooms that are booked in advanced and paid in advanced. I just can't believe that. They took my money and ran with it. I called to cancell my room because the Canadian goverment requires a visa to enter the country and It won't be issue on time. They told me that that's not their problem and that there is nothing they can do about it. I called to change my reservation to the american side. They told me that it's a different hotel and they cannot do anything about that. So, what it's the purpose of the brand name as Holiday Inn if they are not gonna do anything about it. Where is the customer satisfaction thing. I just can't believe they couldn't do anything. It's not my fault that the goverment just issue a new rule and I can't use their hotel. I have been a reward member for a long time but they just don't care. It's the first time a hotel is not willing to give your money back. I'm calling way in adavanced. This is steeling. I booked 3 rooms and they cannot do anyting, just take your money. I'm sure if they want they can refund the money. No negotiation whatsoever. I'm so frustrated, they just took more than $500. I just won't recommend a hotel that is not willing to take care of their customers.

Horrible
By ,
The room smelled, we were given the wrong room (one bed, four people), and then charged for two cots. We could have stayed at a much nicer place for the same price with all that. As a vegetarian I was told that the only thing the restaurant had was salad, fettucini alfredo (not health-friendly), or cooked brocc/caul/carrots, which turned out to be way overcooked. Or there was a $15 veggie pizza that took longer to make so would come after my family's meal. Please call ahead and ask lots of questions or get a great discount before spending time at this HI.

A Wonderful Hotel !
By ,
Just got back from our family vacation in Niagara Falls and we can't wait to go back. Everything was great at the hotel. Loved the balcony, swimming pool and the friendly staff. Food was great, but a little pricey. Location was excellent. We're already planning our next trip!

Thanksgiving (US) at the Falls
By ,
We got to Niagara Falls on Thanksgiving day for a 2 night 3 day package. The room was quaint, it wasn't something that was fantastic by any means especially when the Giant IMAX theatre was right outside our window across the back parking lot. If you can deal with the loud speakers every so many minutes into the evening it's worth it. otherwise I suggest you ask for one of the rooms that are not in the back parking lot area. The package deal included dinner at the top of the skylon tower. My suggestion to anyone with Teenagers booking a package at this hotel. DO pay the extra $$ and register them as an adult to save the child the embarrassment my daughter encountered. Holiday Inn considers anyone under the age of 18 a child, thus when the package was booked and the age of my child (16) was given they charged me a child rate. BIG MISTAKE. My 16 year old DOES NOT EAT off of the children's menu. and to be given one in such a snazzy restaurant was an insult to her and myself. I would of gladly paid the extra to save that embarrassment. It just really made me angry that they assume that a teenager would want to eat off of a little kids menu. One thing I can say, is that the waiter we had the first night there in the hotel restaurant itself was kind enough to let her order off of the adult menu. Holiday Inn should have a rate for Children who are teenagers. The folks at skylon wouldnt let me pay the difference at the time we were eating. Other than the encounter with idiocy at meal time, I would go there again, just doing things differently. The food at the hotel restaurant was quite tasty.

Great location
By ,
We stayed there several times over the years and enjoyed our stay. The location is good and its a good value for the money. Restaurants are close and we could hear the falls from our hotel room which was great. Staff was excellent.

Girls weekend
By ,
Myself and some girlfriends go away every November to niagara Falls and we always stay at the Holiday Inn By the Falls. While we don't eat at the restaurant (kind of pricey), they do have a nice bar area and the hotel itself is in a great location to everything. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and are an excellent value for the price. The pool and hot tub area is very nice and clean and the rest of the hotel is very well kept. We have never had any complaints when staying here.

Want to go again soon!
By ,
I've stayed at least 3 times, even when they were remodeling. They still had nice employees, great food at Cocoa's (try the steak or wood fired pizza, breakfast buffet was good, too. You can hear the falls on your balcony! It's close to everything. I love the outside dining area. Once while we were having dinner we kept hearing a voice coming from somewhere and everyone started looking up. There was someone walking a tightrope from one casino to another! Free entertainment! Recommend getting the 2 night package deal. The restaurant at the Kylon Tower is included for dinner one night-go early enough to take in the view up there, then have dinner when dark to see the colors on the falls.

Very convenient for Niagara Falls
This was a very nice hotel for the price. The restaurant that is associated with it could have had a little more to choose from (and cheaper prices) but the food was good and that would not detour me from staying again. The hotel was convenient to the Skylon Tower, IMAX theatre and the Falls. Everything was within walking distance. The only downside I see is that it is located on a very steep hill and while going down the hill to the Falls isn't so bad, coming back up is, especially if someone has bad knees or is disabled. I have already recommended this hotel to several people.
