Thanksgiving (US) at the Falls

We got to Niagara Falls on Thanksgiving day for a 2 night 3 day package. The room was quaint, it wasn't something that was fantastic by any means especially when the Giant IMAX theatre was right outside our window across the back parking lot. If you can deal with the loud speakers every so many minutes into the evening it's worth it. otherwise I suggest you ask for one of the rooms that are not in the back parking lot area. The package deal included dinner at the top of the skylon tower. My suggestion to anyone with Teenagers booking a package at this hotel. DO pay the extra $$ and register them as an adult to save the child the embarrassment my daughter encountered. Holiday Inn considers anyone under the age of 18 a child, thus when the package was booked and the age of my child (16) was given they charged me a child rate. BIG MISTAKE. My 16 year old DOES NOT EAT off of the children's menu. and to be given one in such a snazzy restaurant was an insult to her and myself. I would of gladly paid the extra to save that embarrassment. It just really made me angry that they assume that a teenager would want to eat off of a little kids menu. One thing I can say, is that the waiter we had the first night there in the hotel restaurant itself was kind enough to let her order off of the adult menu. Holiday Inn should have a rate for Children who are teenagers.
The folks at skylon wouldnt let me pay the difference at the time we were eating. Other than the encounter with idiocy at meal time, I would go there again, just doing things differently. The food at the hotel restaurant was quite tasty.
