AVOID AVOID AVOID
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/09
Rooms where very old , mattress lumby, linens nasty, carpet dirty. We were at wedding reception , food was ok , service not very good , everthing you asked for they didn't have. We had a voucher for the buffet breakfast that said tax and tip was included, food decent staff was good, but restuarant was dirty. When we went to check out they had $3,00 to our bill for tip at breakfast. They need new mangment in to bring this hotel upto industry standards. for $169.00 per night we expect it to be at least a 3 star hotel

Stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/09
This is a tired hotel and it is not a resort. The harbourside is only time share. Carpets are old and stained, old furniture. Pool was so filthy and pool area is dated. So called spa is not a spa but low level service. The activity centre appears to be old dirty shed run by teenagers. Grounds are not properly kept. It's low end and depressing. Ever been to a resort...this is NOT it! We went there on a package deal as an incentive....don't get lured in. They are out to get you into time share...it is not even a good time share deal either....35K for one week....Nonetheless Collingwood and Blue Mountain village are fabulous and only 10min away...Stay at Holiday In Select or day's Inn...you'll be better treated and get more for your money.

TIMESHARE CON
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/6/08
They called us frequently offering a cheap stay with golf and meal vouchers. We eventually decided to go to see Collingwood. Only at the end of the booking did they mention that we would have a 2 hour timeshare tour to go to or pay hundreds of $ extra in costs if we didnt attend. The 'tour' was sitting in a room with a sales rep talking to us for 2 hours and then a nasty rep trying to force us to sign when we said we wernt interested. My wife had serious back pain during sales pitch but we still couldnt leave until the end. The 'resort' is just a crappy hotel. Our room was reasonable but noisy. The breakfast was $15 each for poor quality buffet food. The restaurant was $30 minimum just for an entre, so still high price even with the food voucher they give. The pool table was a mess, damaged cues, in a tiny room in the basement. The golf course was very average with 3 temporary holes. Collingwood is pretty boring too, not much to do.

Telemarketing Calls
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/08
Just an FYI that the above titled company is participating in telemarketing calls after hours and disturbing families. When approached, they simply indicate it is their right to do so. You may want to complain to the CRTC if they are calling after 9:30pm or if you have an unpublished number that they found. You can also complain to the CMA about them as well as the local BBB. Below are their details: CRANBERRY RESORT 19 Keith Avenue, Hwy 26 West Collingwood, ON L9Y 4T9

Misleading marketing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/07
About once every 2-3 months we get an unsolicited telemarketing phone call from this place telling us we've "won" a weekend stay - all we need to do is pay for the room and our meals !!! (this is a prize ?) We've repeatedly asked them not to call us, but nothing seems to work. Watch these guys - this is very shady !

Very Disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/07
My husband, daughter and I were visiting friends in the condos which have access to the Cranberry Resort facilities and my daughter bumped her chin on the edge of the indoor pool when getting out and it cut her chin open which would have required 3 - 4 stitches to close but the Doctors looking after her felt that because she was under so much stress they would try gluing it instead. I am very disappointed with the way the incident was handled by front desk staff and how they down played the accident as not being serious or an emergency. While asking for assistance the employee continued to answer the phone and take other calls while my daughter bled and I stood waiting for him to find the phone# to the condo we were staying at. No one even offered directions to the hospital. I later followed up with the manager about the incident explaining how unfortunate this accident was and she didn't even offer a letter of apology but did agree that the edge of the pool was tiled and there were some sharp and rough edges but not much they could do. As for the rest of the resort the adult pool was under maintenance, the family pool was closed due to a broken pipe that had flooded the basement of the rec hall. We went to borrow a game but no games because they were in the flood. The arcade room was so unbearably hot you could hardly breathe the fan was going but it certainly was not air conditioned. The change rooms consisted of 2 shower stalls and one toilet stall and no other privacy! Very run down and lots of maintainance required! Very inexperienced staff and not helpful in an emergency situation. I would never recommend the Cranberry Resort to anyone.

I would not recommend this resort
By Sep, 6/5/07
I read about the cranberry resort and thought it would be the perfect golf getaway. The golfing was great, nice course and loved the service there. As for the resort itself, the landscaping is a garden of dead flowers, a filthy waterfall, some grass and a sidewalk, what a disappointment that was. Its run down, falling apart, everything was either shut down or being renovated. The mixrs bar was even gone, no entertainment here whatsoever, they dont even have a driving range anymore and the stables are gone. They can't call it a resort. You have to go off the property to enjoy any fun activities. Their recreation area is a total joke. A dumpy room with a worn out pool table and furnature from the good will to sit on. We wouldn't even think of swimming in the pool, its discusting and small. Their rooms are decorated from the 70s. My trip, we spent all our time out of the resort!! Call it what it is. Its just a run down hotel. Oh, compliments to the chef, they do serve very good food. Dont book your trip here!!!! But do visit Collingwood, its a beautiful town, just stay elsewhere.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/06
We went to the Cranberry Inn as part of their time share promotion. The inn was undergoing renovations and we were put in a room with the drywall showing. Upon climbing into bed the first evening our young daughter found toe nail clippngs in the bed. After further inspection we found beer caps, dried food and cigarette ashes surrounding the floor around the bed. When we approached the front desk, they said 'Sorry' and that was about it. When we pressed a little further they offered to give us some clean sheets. Housekeeping delivered the sheets and then we made the bed. The timeshare presentation was pushy beyond belief. It even came to one of the salespersons suggesting that we did not care enough about our family to provide them with the best vacation possible. When we finally were able to say no thank you they walked us to the door, pointed down the road and said " The rec centre ( where our children were) is about 2 blocks that way." (They had picked us up at the hotel and driven us to the sales office). Think twice before going here.

DIRTY rooms, EXTREMELY rude and incabable staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/05
Kept my shoes on at all times in the room, the carpet was so dirty. Decor from the 70's. Frontline staff AND management were the rudest PAID employees I have EVER come across. Golf course is deserted and yellowed. Seen better pools on the sidewalk. Stables closed and barn torn down. Paint peeling everywhere. But,by far the worst is the staff and restraunt servce. Upon questioning, you will be told that "you are under their roof and have to follow their rules." We're in our 40s but treated like insignificant 12 year-olds. We were stunned by the rudeness, the degradation of having to put up with that behaviour for a dumpy room and a run-down resort. STAY AWAY from Cranberry Inn, Club Cranberry, and weddings at Cranberry.

Would never recommend
Where do i start? The rooms in the hotel were just brutal- I was there 3 days and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in days. The pool was dangerously deep and overcrowded for children. the only thing i liked was the bike trails. overall, it lacked character and service. With all the wonderful places to go up north, you're better off skipping this one. I was sorry I wasted my time and money!
