Should be condemned
I found this hotel to be in horrible condition. The vending machines were completely empty. There was no lock on the 'security' door, it looked like it had been hacked out with a screwdriver. Our remote control for the TV, and the cord for the AC, were patched with duct tape. Our 'non-smoking' room reeked of smoke. The hallways near the ice machine had exposed wiring, the entire hotel, rooms, bar, all were in a state of serious neglect. And not to mention they charge me nearly $130 per room.
Had a I been in hobunk town, Mississippi, and paid $20 a night, I wouldn't have a complaint, but this is a hotel in a large town, and a chain at that.
After complaining and sending in documented pictures to Choice Hotels in Canada, I received a letter from the hotel manager saying he was sorry I wasn't satisfied, but offering no solution, and then said I was wrong that the AC cord was patched with duct tape, even though I have PICTURES showing it clearly was.
Stay away from this place, it's obviously being run as a slum lord would run his apartment building, no maintenance whatsoever.
