Ramada Hotel & Suites Metrotown, Vancouver

This hotel appeared cheap when my boyfriend and I decided to book a room online but the hotel's irresponsibility with charging our credit card nearly ruined our trip. We booked the trip for about $80 for a single night and were told that we would be charged for that amount only. If there was to to be security deposit the website stated that our specific hotel would inform us. Later while doing some shopping in VAnouver, our credit card was declined and we were unable to make some essential purchases. We called our VISA company who informed us that Ramada Hotel had charged us double the amount for the hotel room and there was nothing they could do about it on their side. We rushed back to the hotel to resolve it and were told that the additonal 100% charged extra was the "security deposit". It was very confusing and frustrating to us that we were never even informed that amount would be unavaliable to us and the funds we meant to use for our trip was going to be avaliable until after that weekend, after the trip. The front desk's nonchalent and dismissive attitude was extremely frustrating and the whole ordeal was ridiculous. Furthermore, when we returned to Seattle, the funds were not made avaliable on monday as they told us. Today is Friday after that horrible birthday weekend, and those funds has still be held up by Ramada. We have called both VISA and Ramada, neither will accept responsibily and Ramada will not explain why our funds are still being held. I want to urge all travelers NOT to consider this hotel for any occasional at all
