Marmot Lodge, Jasper

Good afternoon I was at the hotel 4:30pm Feb 24-08 and was waiting in line for service. When the clerk finished with the group ahead of me the clerk asked me what I would like and I explained to him that I required a room for 3 nights for my son and I.He was about to look up the vacancies when another group came in and basically asked the other group if they needed a room and completely left me standing there. I waited for 10 minutes and he asked who was next in line, again completedly ignoring me until a lady spoke up said to the clerk that I was waiting there for some time. He then told me there were no vacancies for the days I required, which later I found out was untrue.I am not sure as to why this event occurred,but I deserve an apology by management. As far as going back to this hotel,depends on the answer I get from management.If this person is still employed, I will refrain from going back to this establishment and will let the people on the Fort Mcmurray ski team not to visit this hotel. Hi. I'm Marisa and i'm 10 years old. The marmot lodge was sooo awesome! the service was great and i really liked polaying in the pool. I think every hotel should have a pool. Keep up the good work!! Plus, I can't believe they only rated this a 2! I rated it a 5! gtg!

At first I was worried that the 80's styling would mean the room would be old and dirty but I was very wrong. The place was immaculate, even the pool which was also still in 80s styling was very clean and we say maintenance people buffing things up many times. The room was comfortable and the beds were great. The price was $99 for our room. Embers Restaurant (on site) was a great experience. The food was amazing and yet the atmosphere was unpretentious.

I found this to be in a very nice location with alot of things to do in the hotel (the pool, hot tub, ect.)There is also a lovely restaurant near the hotel. But as for cleanliness, it was alright. It was dusty in some areas, but extremly clean in others. The hotel seems old, even some of the appliances are rather old, which CAN sometimes, be a problem. There are alot of basic items in the hotel rooms (soap, towels, shampoo ect) which is good if you forget something and you are low on cash. But i beleive, due to the settings being very old, this is just an 'Avrage' hotel.
