Decent Accommodations
By jandsbrake, 07/30/09
Our room was pretty decent. It was fine for our short time there. Our biggest complaint was the pillows--too flat. Our room had a sofa sleeper in it but no sheets. The room was clean. It also seemed conveniently located.

Spooky and Quaint if you like the Shining hotel!!
By eternal_student, 10/01/08
Our room was located on the 2nd floor reached by an uneven outside stairwell. We had a view of the Viriginian Lodge's RV lot located right behind our building. The interior dark hallway was spooky and overwhelmingly smelled of air freshener trying to mask the mildewy odor that permeated the hallway. 70's room decor looked as if it was originally installed back then with the popcorn ceiling, paneled wood and dark stained carpet. The locks on the door looked like they had been changed a few times and the knob was loose, which raised the questions of safety and maintenance. We had a nonsmoking room with 2 queen-size beds but again which smelled overwhelmingly of the same air freshener. The mattresses were extra firm and not comfortable to sleep on. The inside of the toilet bowl had black stuff growing on it as if no one had scrubbed it for months even though it had a strip of paper placed over the lid proclaiming it "sanitized for your health." The TV reception was fuzzy and only some channels had clear reception. The only good thing was the check-in and check-out process were quick.

Dirty, rude, no wireless internet!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/07
The staff, with few exceptions, was very curt, rude, and just unsociable. Our suite, two rooms and a kitchenette ($149/night) was badly needing updating (and a sweeping) and reaked of a stinky plug-in air freshener. The old, deeply-stained carpet had a thick layer of dust near the base boards where the vacuum apparently didn't reach easily. The fiberglass tub surround made a terrible racket when moving slighty in the shower (complete with hot and cold faucets reversed, of course). Our two-room "suite" had no AC or vents in the bedroom. I suppose the biggest draw would be for drinkers of "adult" beverages (of which I am not). On my way to ask why the wireless internet didn't work, I walked past chants of, "Johnny, Johnny, Johnny!" Then, "Sam, Sam, Sam!" as the many peple in the outdoor cocktail bar, near the pool, were loudly participating in drinking games. (pool area not for children) BTW, the answer concerning the internet: "Yeah, it's hit or miss, some rooms don't get it even though we got five antennas, but you can come and sit in our lobby to get it." Gee thanks. More like a $49 a night joint than a $149 hotel! Seemed awfully old and dirty although my wife said the pool was nice and it is located in Jackson (with a great view of a gravel pile out our window). Actually the much cheaper cabins at Yellowstone were cleaner, more comfortable, and a better value.

Virginian Motel RV Park
By xgiguy, 07/26/07
At first glance I noticed the park was fairly clean but the RV's were crowded so close together that there might have been 10 feet between units. The pull through spaces were short and parking space was extremely limited. The shower and toilet facilities were neat but if anyone flushed a toilet or started a washer in the nearby laundry facility while you were in the shower your water in the shower would go from comfy to scalding or freezing in the blink of an eye. My overall rating is based mostly on the overcrowding and lack of parking room once disconnected from your RV. It is close to most of the downtown sights as well as snow king and major highways.

Don't Stay Here !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/07
We chose this hotel because their website showed rooms arranged around a nice grassy area with pool. Each room appeared to have its own exterior entrance and all looked quaint and comfortable- Wrong ! There were rooms around the grassy area, but they were the smaller rooms. The rooms with 2 queen beds were in a completely separate building. One main entrance opened to a long dark hallway smelling of mildew and mold. The rooms were off of the dark hallway. The two rooms we had reserved smelled of air freshener which obviously was a bad attempt to cover up the smell of smoke (in non-smoking rooms), and mildew and mold. The rooms were dumpy and discusting. The building was adjacent to a mobile home park which resembed a slum. Behind the building was a tent "campground" where hundreds of people were croweded into a large parking lot type campground. If you love to stay in a room smelling of mold, mildew and smoke and looking out the window at a mobile home slum or tent city- book a room here. I don't recommend it!

Worst Nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/07
Frankly could find nothing to like. Picture on internet looks like an entirely different place. Internet did not mention that a large number of the rooms are located in an old dilapidated building behind the "charming" play area/pool and other rooms. Requested a non-smoking room because of allergies. Room reeked of smoke. Apparently a non-smoking sign on the door is all that is required for the room to be designated non-smoking. When returning to office to seek a different room walked past the pool which is adjacent to the bar with a crowd of smokers standing around. Knew our family would not use the pool under these circumstances. Told that there are no restrictions on where smoking is allowed outdoors. Manager checked out the room and said that the odor was air freshener. Right! Was also told that management had no control over whether travelers smoked in the room or not. Arrived early enough to have a different room but management refused to budge. It was a busy holiday weekend and everything else in Jackson was full. Finally located a lovely place 55 miles north of Jackson. I would rather sleep in my car than stay in this motel again.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/06
The bathroom had not been cleaned and there was hair in the bathtub and someone urinated on the toilet seat, even though it had a "been cleaned banner" wrapped around seat. They did clean bathroom for us and we had to wait addition 30 minutes.

Worst flea-bag hotel ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/05
This place is a dump! I can't believe I paid almost $100.00 to stay here. It took 35 minutes to check-in, drunks wandering the parking lot (also occasional security personnel), the room was so old and dirty I didn't want my kids touching anything. There was a large (12 in. diameter) hole in the carpet, the sofa bed was so soiled I was afraid to open it. If there were any other options I would have stayed somewhere else. I would never stay here again!
