The worst hole in wyoming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/10
Was in town for my mothers funeral and we decided on this place for all of the family-14 people in all-we checked in.The man was rude as ever.We all finally got our keys for 3 rooms.Went to our rooms and dropped off our bags.We hardly were there an hour.We all left to eat.Came back-we all had to get ready for funeral we had a few hours.Plenty of time to get everyone ready.Everyone started taking showers. Not even through the first one I myself having a problem with the water-no hot water at all?So, we asked our family in the next room.No hot water and they were having the same problem? So we called up the next room...suprise no hot water!?We are all upset because we have limited time and NO ONES hot water works!?So we go to the desk and the man is a jerk.Moves us to new building.By than we had gone to friends and got showered. Had funeral. We go to bed fine wake up-NO WATER AT ALL!?He neglected to tell us that he was having the water main fixed! We demanded a refund for 2 days and nights of hell-he refused and said we were wrong. And that day we had breakfast there finally not even complimentary and it sucked might I add! The worst hotel experience in our lives.Never stay there again!!Rude staff and bad accomidations and I was not pleased with the first room they put us in and yes had a problem with locking the sliding galss door. And thank goodness we knew people in Sheridan so we could shower.TERRIBLE-TERRIBLE-TERRIBLE!!NOT RECOMMENDED!!Not worth it at all.

office staff is the major problem
By trapper, 08/18/09
I asked for a room with easy access & couldn't park next to room as I was told I would be towed only place close to my door was across the street by Alicia. Next morning I confirmed that she had lied to me on there being no more rooms, & the parking spot could have been used. The bed had a big hump in the middle of it & the a/c wouldn't & didn't have any way to shut it off. ( i stuffed a towel over the vent) the temp. got to 45 deg that night. I have stayed there before with no problems & a nice room, but if Alicia is there stay at another motel.

Warning! This is the worst hotel in Sheridan
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/09
If you book in to Trails End, don't expect to get much sleep as the rooms are only feet away from the rail line and freight trains blow their horn all night long while the room shakes as the train passes by. The rooms have an unbearable odor, particularly the pillows which seemed to have only been ironed, not washed! Staff were unusually rude and do not care at all if you are uncomfortable. Smoke detector hung from wires from the ceiling, against national code. No windows, rather a sliding door that is impossible to open/close. We had to sleep without the door locked, because it doesn't work properly. Dangerous and located on the industrial side of town, this dump should never have been given two stars... and beware, if you have more than two in the room... you will have to pay extra $$ for the lousy breakfast. There are cheaper and much nicer hotels in Sheridan ... Stay Away From Trails End!

By Liza, 03/10/09
We loved thi hotel, we stayed there in January and it was so cozy that we couldnt help but sleep all day. It has allot of history tighted in with the hotel and the bar inside is just super. Stuff is very friendly, prices are very affordable. We loved it, cant wait to go back to Sheridan.

Average hotel but good breakfast
By Bluey, 09/09/08
This is a fairly aged motel that has been spruced up. When we arrived there weren't enough beds for our party of 3 adults and 2 children (booked with hotels.com) but thankfully we were given a larger room with had 2 bedrooms. The rooms were somewhat stuffy and the windows didn't open, but there were vents in the room with I hope worked to ventilate in some way. The beds and pillows were really good. The room was nothing fancy, but clean. The breakfast and breakfast room was terrific. Just a couple of issues. They could have done with some information in the room about places to eat, service details etc. There was no info at all. Also as there are no refrigerators in the room, it would be good if some refrigerator facility could be provided for customers. We asked if anything was available (for our recently bought cold goods) but was told there was nothing. The other very disappointing aspect was that the pool (one of the reasons why we booked here) would open until 10.30 in the morning. At first we were told that it was 'Wyoming law' which seemed ridiculous, however it turns out that the receptionist was referring to a law which asks for the pool to be vacant for an hour after chlorine treatment. Easily solved I would say with an earlier treatment. So no swim for the kids and a wasted pool. Overall, hotel just ok, but good breakfast.

Western Hospitality!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/08
You are to be congratulated on your efforts to improve the Trails End. On the outside we weren't sure but once inside WoW! Reception was what I'd call--Western Hospitality. The room was clean and the beds were wonderful. The deluxe breakfast buffet was the "icing on the cake". You need to add a computer for guests to check e-mail and a hot tub would also add to the pool area. Betty Toronto Canada

a hidden treasure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
the motel surprised me with its elegant western decor, largest hotel room I've ever stay in, and its one of the kind deluxe continnetial breakfast. the new owner has went all out to make this place the best of its kind. the friendly staff make us feel like we are at home. the is a place you can't judge from outside, once you step into the lobby you will why I call it "a hidden treasure".
