Holiday Inn Fond Du Lac, Fond du Lac

My Wife and I decided to enjoy our 20th wedding anniversary at the Holiday Inn. We had parked in the front parking lot and went into enjoy what we thought to be an enjoyable lunch. I had to ask for a second glass, the first one was not clean, the menus were sticky(they should include anti-bacterial wipes for each guest). The main entree's were okay. We asked for an after dinner cocktail, it was terrible for the price, the bartender must have had to have looked in his recipe guide. We went out to our car parked out front and someone had backed into our car, cracked the front grill and moved the front headlight. The Holiday Inn employee said that is to bad, nothing we can do?! The estimate to fix our car is just over $1000, we have a hundred dollar deductible. So lunch cost us $40+dollars + the hundred dollar deductible! Expensive lunch, no cameras in front of the Holiday Inn??? Go someplace else to eat or stay the night!!

We spend Christmas eve here every year. The staff are in a great mood and very helpful. They make you feel at home and never complain to us about the extra work caused by the Christmas wrapping garbage. Instead, they give up time with their families in order to make our family have a great celebration. See you in December!

I liked everything, especially the friendly staff, the swimming pool and the view the rooms have. The susnset is really beautiful if you take a room with western location

They lost our reservation, the room was freezing, the staff was inept and rude. They applied the wrong amount to the bill, and would not correct their error. I would NEVER go there again!!!!

This is a Holiday Inn that is showing its age and neglect. (Much like the fated old Holiday Inn Oshkosh) The non-smoking room was damp and musty and smelled of cigarettes. When we asked for a different room that didn't smell like smoke, we were told that we were mistaken because our room was non-smoking and so there was no need for us to get a new room. The bath also had a strong mold smell and could see that the mildew had been building a long time. The TV also only got 8 stations. We were told it was the cable company's fault, though the front desk seemed to get HBO just fine. The staff obviously feels that people should go elsewhere and not intrude in their busy social lives. Every visit to the front desk (they wouldn't answer the phone!) was greeted with a whadda' you want scowl. It became obvious that the reason they weren't answering the phone was because they were busy calling friends and family. This was also one of the only hotels left where I actually had to pay an extra $15 per kid. Most hotels if you get a room with two beds, that means you've already paid for the wife and kids. NOT IN FDL, WI! A word of advice for anyone staying anywhere in Eastern Wisconsin, my experience with 20 to 30 hotels and motels in the Fox Valley is keep driving. You get much better and friendlier service by just getting away from Lake Winnebago. In FDL, drive west toward Green Lake. They have some great hotels there for around the same money and the staff and owners care about more than your money. In Oshkosh, go west on 21 about 20 miles. In Appleton, drive out to New London, Shawano, or on up to Green Bay, your service will surprise you and you may even save a buck.
