Don Q Inn, Dodgeville

I have been going to the Don Q for at least ten years. I have never had a problem with any staff. One time we went the restaurant was closed, it's not owned by the hotel, so we had to drive to McDonald's because everything else was closed. That has been the only problem we've ever had. I've stayed in almost every themed room and they're awesome. Yes it's musty smelling, dirty, cold...but that's part of the charm ! We go there at least once a year and always have a great time ! We're going back in March to stay in the Moon room, play pool on the crooked table, whack air hockey pucks, sit in a babrbers chair in front of the giant fireplace and take tons of pictures of everything in the cave. And don't forget the plane ! The place is awesome...

This place is awesome!!! The themed rooms are so cool and very reasonable! There's hot tubs in all of them and there's a big pool and a bunch of interesting stuff to look at all around. There's also an underground tunnel that goes to the adjoining restaurant which was also amazing! They just got a new chef and he came over to our table and introduce himself. If you find yourself in the area you have to check this place out!

This hotel must have changed since the previous reviews! The staff is amazing, and willing to accomodate any needs! The regular rooms were comfortable and large compared to other hotel rooms. Although I didn't stay in a suite, I went on a tour. The tour itself was a good idea, and I liked that they wouldn't allow people to check into the suites until AFTER the tour was complete. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a unique experience, something fair priced, and close to local attractions, this is your place!

My husband, my two boys, and I stayed in this hotel in late October. After staying in this hotel, my kids have woken up several mornings with red welts on them. We discovered we have bed bugs. They are very hard to get rid of. If you do not want bed bugs, stay away from this hotel. Beware!

Booked a Fantsy Suite at the Don Q Inn as a romantic Valentines weekend for my husband. Should have known something was wrong when I received rude service when I booked the room. It got worse from there. Lobby/hallways freezing, you had to wear your coat. "Shotgun" suite dark,in disrepair and had a 300 gallon concave tank tub with no way in or out, very unsafe. decided on the "Float" Fantsy Suite. Tub,heart shaped, dirty and cracked. The boat that encompassed the bed was dusty and dirty, light fixture was rusted. The heater didn't work our own blankets only warmth all night. Whirlpool had disgusting stuff floating on top, bathroom dirty. Told girl next morning she didn't care. Beware!!!

My mother and Father rented the "Chapel Room" for my husband and I the Sunday after our wedding and when we got into our room we were extremely disappointed! None of the bedding/curtains/etc. matched, the furniture on the top level in the "sitting area" was white rickety patio furniture, the stereo was from the 80's, dead flys all over, the fridge was a dorm fridge and it was extremely dirty, and the 2 tv's in the room were only 13" to name a few. We went into the hotel to check it out and it was very dark, nothing worked in the game room and the pool was something to be desired. We decided to eat at the restaurant on sight and my husband,who is a not a picky eater, could not even finish his meal because he said the meat tasted bad. When I got back home from our weekend away I informed my mother of the situation and she called the hotel and the manager was "out for the day" and they would call her back. They never did so to this day I will not recommend this place to any one for any reason.
