Nendels Inn, Pullman

Besides the filth and horrible maintenance, which I was prepared for, a new frontier in bad guest treatment was reached on my stay. They were within two or three minutes of towing my car away in the parking lot because I parked in the spot reserved for the maintenance man (husband of the the owner behind the desk)! It is poorly marked and appears just like the other spots in the middle of the parking lot, except for a small sign that I didn't notice when I pulled in. I was only there for about an hour when I came out of my room for another reason and saw my car up on a tow truck. Can you imagine being on a road trip and having your car towed and impounded? Cost me $90 to get him to not take my car away, which I plan to dispute with my credit card company. Unbelievable.

Nendel's was among the worst hotels I have had the misfortune to deal with. They do not deliver the amenities they agree to and unapologetically will not refund advanced payment if you need to move (do to lack of above amenities). The rooms, parking lot, etc. are all dirty, and the AC barely works. The wifi is very weak. Half of the light bulbs in the room were burned out. If you have to stay in Pullman, I would recommend trying anywhere but Nendel's first.

The office here at Nendels Inn has a variety of exotic animals including a Pacman frog, 2 African Clawed frogs, an African side necked turtle and a tank full of African cichlids. The frog tank that is next to the guest guides and breakfast bar are air breathing underwater frogs called African Clawed frogs, they float at the top of the water when they are relaxing and breathing air. My male is rather large and is albino and hardly moves, several guests have asked if he is real or alive. He is indeed alive and is a healthy happy 2 yr old. The frog tank gets rather murky very quickly and requires daily cleaning and it is sometimes difficult to maintain during the busier weekends. We are indeed a very friendly family atmosphere and would love to share that with anyone who comes in, even if it is just to see our pets !

Let me first say that the young couple who run Nendels are very nice and helpful. The room was clean enough. The location is easy. I wasn't very happy that I was quoted $67 when I made the reservation, but was charged $97 (probably because it was a big weekend for the college.) Whatever - I was only staying one night. I noticed a funky smell in the office when I checked in, but dismissed it when my room was okay. When I went to the office to checkout the next morning, however, the smell was stronger and really nasty. I thought maybe the big fish tank hadn't been cleaned recently, but then I notced a smaller tank next to the breakfast items with green, cloudy water and a big dead frog floating in it. It had obviously been there for awhile. How do you NOT NOTICE that when it's inches from the coffee pots? And this frog was big - the size of a man's fist. I was really creeped out and probably won't stay again.

The location was perfect being across from WSU and rates were low. The hotel was definanently old but VERY clean and comfertable. costumer service was excellent when the couple in the office was kind enough to move us to a ground level room because our son was on crutches and couldnt make it up the stairs, even though they were completely full they still made it possible and seemed happy to do so. All in all we had a good time and were surprised on how the remarks that were made on the reviews were completely not the case at all. We most certainly recommend this place to all our friends with children at WSU !!!

This hotel is overpriced for the quality of the room. It is shabby and old and the sheets are stained. The customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. I would sooner sleep in my car than rent a room from this establishment again.

The price was good... i got a discount because i was interviewing at the vet school, so i only paid $38/night... but the place smelled like poop. The people were nice and the room was clean, but I just couldn't get over the smell.

The last time I stayed in a room this run down and filthy was while traveling through the jungle towns of east Java. The bathtub was rust stained and covered in pubic hair. The shower curtain reeked of mildew. The carpet was stained and sticky in places. The sink had a rusted hole through it. The room had a table but only one chair. When I arrived the room's temperature was about 45. I cranked the old electric wall heater (which looks like it could catch fire at any time) yet three hours later the room was still to cold to get out of my coat and into bed. I slept in my coat. Watch out because they take your money in advance then give you the room key. They also have a 30 day cancellation policy. If you don't cancel in that period, you are out the entire amount. If you can't find another room available in Pullman, go to Moscow, ID - a short drive up the road. If you stay here, be sure your shots are up to date.

Besides crummy old carpet and rust-colored water, Nendel's features an internet signal so weak I had to sit in my car to get it. For WSU Dad's Weekend they charged $150 a night for a $39 a night value.

This hotel has a great location and reasonable rates. The atmosphere is family oriented and the staff was very friendly. Though an older hotel, the rooms were clean and well maintained. I would defenitely recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel close to Washington State University or University of Idaho.
