No bargain at any price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/08
Where to begin? 1. The rooms are advertised as non-smoking, but our room reeked of cigarette smoke. I complained and was assued it was non-smoking and housekeeping would attend. I don't know what they did, but there was no improvement. 2. The halls reeked like a damp basement. 3. The walls are paper thin. Noise travels from adjacent rooms, the hall, and the street. 4. The elevators clang like anvils - all night long. This place is no bargain, even as a last resort.

Over priced closet
By Fergavicious, 5/13/07
This room was WAY expensive and maybe 12x12... if not smaller. The parking was expeinsive and could not accomodate my truck. We had to park way further up the hill. I booked because it sounded cute and the picture on the internet made it look great... the picture must be from another hotel, that was NOT the room we got, not even close. There was a problem with the blankets and I was told to give the bellman 10 minutes to deal with it, when he never came back, I went downstairs. I saw him there in his street clothes leaving work and he never dealt with the problem. Finally after seeing spaghetti sauce on the wall, the tiny room, the ridiculous price, and poor service, we told them we were leaving and wanted our money back. We took our money and went to Red Lion on 4th and it was GREAT!!!!!

So unhappy I cried...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/2/07
I recently wasted $149 to stay at this seamingly nice hotel. I sayed in Seattle for buisness and needed to be close to down town, little did I know that my quest for conveniance would end up being so much trouble. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the worst way. The staff was very unhelpful so much so that it seemed to me like they were going out of their way to be rude. Getting an elevator ride to or from my tiny room required the company of a book because it took so long. I was shocked to find out just how small the room actually was. I felt like calling the front desk and telling them that I paid for a room not a closet with beds, but I was affaird of the staff. I ended up asking for an extra blanket because the heater was broken, and a misterious $100 charge just showed up on my account a full 2 weeks have past since I stayed there. And true to there staffs representation of the hotel I have made many attemps to contact there manager to no avail. To sum this up I had a terrible no good very bad time. And I would like to recomened staying in your car instead of this hotel.

not for a business traveler
By susang, 4/21/07
This hotel is not for a business traveler, there is no Wi-Fi in the room, and the garage is tough to get to. There are no elevators so you find yourself dragging your bags up and down stairs after walking around the block to get to the elevator. Only several TV channels had sound, the rooms are really small and dated. It can be cheap so there were party people coming in and out at 2-3 in the morning. I could hear every word spoken and unfortunatley sound in the room next to me. It was pretty dismal, the parking is costly and no bargain.

bad, dirty, dishonest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/06
dirty, shabby room, needed paint and carpet cleaning. tiny closet, all full of iron board, no room to hang clothes. sink size of small soup bowl. maid entered room despite do not disturb sign. hotel did not aknowledge complaints, acted as though business as usual. 'complimentary upgrade' fictitious. we were charged $40 extra. they were confused when told their OWN website offers 'complimentary upgrade' never could get anyone on phone prior to check-in, though tried many times. parking entrance up a hill, and over a city block, then up some stairs, and then an elevator ride. it was almost $20 day for this long walk. don't expect anything like what their website advertises. we will never go there again, and wish we never had.

Comfortable, affordable, convenient and clean
By Alexandra, 8/16/06
If you want modern accomodations (i.e.PERFECT computer Internet access, micro climate controlled spaces and luxurious spaces) then go ahead and spend $300 a night to stay at any of the surrounding hotels. You'll still be the same distance from the major attractions and $50.00 to $100.00 a day poorer. I have stayed here numerous times (12-15)in the last eight years and have always enjoyed the location. The hotel is within an EASY stroll of Pike's Place (less than 15 minutes walking s-l-o-w-ly), shopping and many restaurants. I've even walked to the stadium to watch a Mariner's game, and I'm over 50! You don't need to rent a car unless you need to go out of town. The airport shuttles will get you within one block. Even a cab ride is not expensive from SEATAC. The staff is attentive, even checking on me at midnight when my husband couldn't reach me on the phone. There is a high speed wireless connection available in the lobby, Mezzanine and coffee shop. Free bus service runs by the front door and 1 block down or up. Cab service is readily available. The front desk is glad to make the call. I'm a clean freak and have always found the rooms and bathrooms very well kept. For the money and overall experience, I will gladly stay here in the future.

need to improve customer service
By makiko guji, 1/21/06
We checked in around 7pm on 1/19/06. The woman at the front desk had a stone face and didn't smile once during the check-in, nor did she say 'enjoy your stay'. We thought it was very unwelcoming and odd.... She gave us a room right next to the elevator (very noisy), which we couldn't help thinking she did intentionally, because it was a mid-week in January and the hotel didn't seem to be full. We didn't care about the size of the room, but the renovation was very cheaply done (spent only on funiture?) and we could see lots of unfinished spots on the wall. My guess is that they count on their revenue mainly on the foreign travelers in the package tours (such as toursits from Japan), so they don't care to attract repeating guests.

Great if you're on a tight budget...
By Gracey, 10/5/05
LIKE ME!!! I didn't have a lot of money and was staying a day in Seattle. After calling around, this place sounded perfect for me: close to Pike's market, heart of downtown and inexpensive. Coming from Vegas, I had certain expectations. Initially, I was impressed with the service, but when I got up to my room, was surprised to see how small it was. After the initial shock wore off, I settled in and left my hotel to check out the sites. By the time I arrived back at my hotel, I was exhausted. So exhausted I just went to sleep and the size of the room didn't matter!! I do agree with the other reviewers - no heater OR AC!!! Thank God I visited Seattle when it was in the 70's!! I thought the bed was comfy, the pillows were comfy and the bathroom had everything you (I) needed. This is no 5 star hotel by any means, but my stay was very pleasant and if I had to, I would stay there again. The staff was nice and accomodating -- they even let me check in 4 hours early because my room was ready! So, if you're a traveler on a tight budget, this is a great place!
