creepy
By ,
I liked the service and all that "good" stuff, BUT...the hotel had the creepiest feel to it. The color scheme and the dim lighting gave it such a spooky feeling. Maybe I'm just easy to scare, but I went to the basement to buy an ice cream from the vending machine and it was so still, quiet and spooky, it really felt like someone was down there with me even though I knew there wasn't.

Honeymoon stop
By ,
We spent the first night of our honeymoon in the Camlin March 18, 1950 during spring break at the U of W and we sure didn't pay much attention to the service, cleanliness, location or value. The next morning, we headed for the old Black Ball terminal and boarded a ferry for Victoria. I also remember the Camlin as the site of several stag parties during my college days and the place where I met my first employer after finishing at the U of W. We have thought betimes about revisiting the Camlin before we go gentle into that good night, but never have. There may still be time for a review at that as we are frequent visitors to Seattle.

Fine place.
By ,
I was there for a week in 1999 and the service was OK. They still had a restauraunt at that time with a free breakfast included. No afternoon meals. Reasonable rates - just under $ 100/day. On the NE edge of DT Seattle across the street from the railway and next door was a car rental place. At that time they were just starting to update the hotel.

The Camlin Hotel
By ,
I had a Fantastic time at this resort. The concierge was very courteous and the rooms were remarkably clean. I saved money on my trip at TIMESHAREWATCH DotCOM where I was able to book a rental with a Timeshare owner for extremely cheap.

We could walk everywhere! Great location! Staff very friendly. No hot water for showers 3 out of 6 days. No AC. Would definitely return.

Looking forward to going back!
By ,
We stayed in a studio which was very clean and the staff was delightful. We were able to open all of the windows in the studio for fresh spring air. The only downside was the bathroom didn't have a fan and it caused the room to be very damp. The Cloud Room on the top floor was very nice and private to spend a moment alone with those you love.

I love it!
By ,
This historic hotel has been tastevully remodeled and updated with respect paid to its many years of history. After reading the previous reviews, I was a bit worried, but found it to be simply a delightful place to stay, and a perfect location for seeing sll the highlights of downtown Seattle. It's right across from the Parmount Theater and RuthChris' Steak House. Walk to most places in the district. The beds were very comfortable, and the heat was easily regulated in our studio courtyard room.

LOVELY!!!!!!!
By ,
I have stayed at the Camlin several times. It is beautiful, comfortable and cozy. I have even had a girls weekend there and they all loved it too. It just feels homey! The service is excellent. The only downside is there is no restaurant in the hotel. However, there are several nearby. So, If you don't mind a little stroll to get a bite to eat and/or martinis or whatever, then you will not be dissappointed.

May Not want To Bother
By ,
We came to Seattle to attend some Seattle Mariner games over July 4th weekend 2006 - which happened to be an unusual heat wave - and there was no air conditioning in the rooms except for the penthouses on the top floor and in the lobby. Rooms are small and windows don't open; fans in rooms don't circulate air. Rooms are lovely, but pretty much ineffective. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. This is now a WorldMark/Trendwest timeshare resort which I am a member, and will not be visiting again.
