Not Happening Here
When I arrived at Seatac airport, I contacted the hotel for the free shuttle service. Though the hotel itself is only a few minutes from the airport, it took over 20 minutes before they arrived...other hotel shuttles whizzed by several times before the Executel shuttle arrived.
The room itself was clean, and the cleaning staff were probably the best part of the stay! I wanted to call home to let everyone know that I had arrived safely, but everytime I tried to call the number the hotel provided if you wanted to charge the call to an outside number, I was redirected to the front desk. One clerk told me that my phone was only set up for local calls, and that he would correct the problem, but I still was redirected. There was no way I could make a long-distance call without charging it to the room. OK, so now I wanted to know how much the L.D. call would be, but the clerk "had no idea." It ended up costing me $4.95 for one brief call home.
There was no room service, and the restaurant was closed on Sunday night. Breakfast buffet staff were frazzled and grumpy (do NOT eat the hard-boiled eggs!).
Front desk personnel, with one exception, were usually in the back room, and guests had to call out several times before someone would emerge to help them. One couple was checking out only minutes after checking in!
The shuttle back to the airport was ready fairly quickly, and the driver was amiable. Once we arrived at the airport, however, he left me at the first stop saying, "I think this is the closest to 'American,'" when, in fact, American was all the way at the other end of the terminal, and I was left to schlep all my bags and paraphenalia across the terminal to check in.
Note that there is a metro bus that picks up almost in front of this hotel, and for a very reasonable fee (like $1.25) will drop you off at the same place at Seatac airport.
Oh yeah, and the ATM machine was broken, but the front desk would not allow me to use my debit card when paying my bill to access any cash.
Seattle, YES! Best Western Airport Executel, NEVER AGAIN!
