Not what we expected, won't go back
By karen, 11/22/09
The exercise room had equipment that was very old and in bad condition. That was the good point. The exercise room is located in the middle of the basement Smoking section. Could not use it due to the thick smell of smoke. The shuttle service to the Metro was reliable. However, the shuttle service back to the hotel was horrible. We had to wait out in the cold & wind due to repeatly being lied to by the desk clerk that our ride was on the way. I had to call 3 times for our shuttle ride back to the hotel. The room was nice with the exception of the coffee maker had not been cleaned after the previous occupant had used it. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The continental breakfast was nice and the coffee was fresh. With the exception of 1 desk clerk and the location & condition of the exercise equipment our stay was adequate. Would not recommend to anyone.

rip off telephone bills
By eshankoty, 11/30/08
This is like the movie, The Firm. They lure you in with discount rates only to slap incredible rates on things like your telephone bills. Been there in Nov. 2008. I am seriously considering suing them. Agree with them even on telephone rates.

fantastic
By debbieh, 01/27/07
never stayed at a comfort inn. pleasantly surprised. the staff were the BEST!! friendly and helpful. first visit to the dc area and the girls at the desk were great. (even called me a taxi so i wouldn't get "ripped off". and how right they were...the taxi they called was 17.00 to the holocaust museum and one i flagged down to get back to the inn was 37.00..go figure!!)) allan was the driver of the free shuttle offered by the hotel. he was a hoot!! just so nice to my daughter and i. gave us great suggestions for sightseeing. room was spotless. continental breakfast was remarkable..large selection. coffee available 24/7. i always thought comfort inns were low class but if this is any indication as to the others, i will be staying more often.

Couldn't get much worse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/06
There were so many things, it's hard to know where to start. The reservation was messed up. The room was dirty. I went to use the iron and there was no iron; when I called down to get one, the woman at the desk had no idea what to do. I ended up having to borrow one from another guest. The middle of the hotel, through which I had to constantly walk, was empty and unheated, like some kind of hotel tomb. The list goes on and on. A terrible, terrible place to stay.

Avoid the bottom level
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/05
I stayed on the bottom level and it was extremely damp and mouldy. Very quiet. I couldn't find the front desk clerk most of the time (late afternoon after management had left) and when I did he has not very efficient. The management was very kind and accomadating.

moldy bathrooms and very noisy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/05
the bathrooms had not had not been scrubed for sometime--the maids spray everythig with some type of cleaner which makes everything (even the furniture) damp. The breakfast foods seemed old and the attendent in the dining area didn't bother to clean the tables after each use. The front desk clerks were surly and unhelpful. The hotel itself is hard to get to and is in a dubious neighborhood. I would not stay there again.

Bad Experience
By annie, 05/27/05
I stayed here on my Washinton DC eigth grade trip. The front desk was rude, there were spiders(tons!)in the rooms, the keys would work one time then stop, and some money was stollen and food(snacks) was stollen from rooms.
