Surfside Oceanfront Inn and Suites, Virginia Beach

Staff was nice, even giving me a discount in the rate, which made the room well worth it's cost. Room was clean & housekeeper was super nice. Location perfect, Could see the amusement park from the hotel. The breakfast was more then I expected, (What are they talking about, "A Joke?") There was 3 kinds of Kelloggs cereal: Applejacks & Frosted Flakes; 3 types of bagels & Sara Lee muffins; 2 kinds of bread for toasting, & fresh fruit. What more can you ask for free. I loved the beverage station in the lobby, available 24 hrs a day: Coffee, juice & fruit punch. The staff happily even gave me a late check out. I loved my stay & would not stay anywhere else I go back.

We loved everything, especially the location on the beach, very close to the pier.The price was right and the staff was very courteous. We have never been to Virginia Beach and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our only complaint was the elevator issues ,but hey a 2 minute wait won't kill you............See ya next year at the Surfside Hotel..............

From check in to check out. We arrived, no reservation, my prepaid room receipt was no where to be found. Upon checkout I am told by "Jan" the error on the "lost receipt" is my fault!! three days after checkout I still have no credit on my credit card as a result of the hotel being overpaid. In my room the bathroom door was rusty and moldy. we lifted the comforter and there was old food crumb under and around the frame of the bed. at no time did the hotel apologize for any misunderstandings let alone diffuse the situation at hand I would never recommend this hotel to ANYONE!! The front desk, management and all hotel staff lack in professional courtesy and should be educated in the hospitality industry!!!

The rooms are in GREAT need of renevations. Funny smells, (ie mold) I could tell there was mold due to my allerys to mold. The entire place except the front entrance needs cleaning, updates and upkeep. The deluxe breakfast is a joke. We went to the pool and the light fixture actually fell out into the water! I notified the front desk. I think this is another place they need to tear down and build another one and keep the building up instead of letting it go. I am still in shock I paid $332.00 for 2 nights here.
