Ramada on the Beach, Virginia Beach

Normally when I visit VA beach I stay at the Hilton, this time, I stayed here, for money purposes. Upon arrival, no one from valet offered to help us with our luggage. Later that night, we called down to the front desk to ask for 2 rolls of toilet paper to be brought up to our room. No one ever came. The following night, my boyfriend went to go use the toilet. As he leaned back, the entire base broke in half causing water to gush out. When he woke me up, it sounded as though the shower was running but in reality it was the toilet soaking up our entire floor. I jumped up to move everything from getting soaked. He ran down to the front desk to ask for towels. While he was gone, I proceeded to call the front desk to notify them of the issue and they said they would be sending someone up shortly. 5 minutes later, I called down again and they told us no one was "on site" to help us with the issue and that they would be sending up security. When security arrived, they took pictures, made a report, and put towels down. THis was appreciated but no help at all. They offered us another room for the night, but it was 2 AM and we were tired. This afternoon as we arrived home, the hotel sent us an email to inform us that there was damage in the room below us as well as damage to the ceiling. They are going to send us an estimate to pay for the damage... No, I do not plan on paying because this issue was not our fault at all. Imagine if a 300 pound man sat down on the toilet... It was extremely hazardous especially considering my boyfriend is an average sized male. No, I will not be staying here again. Low cost = low service.

Staff is unprofessional. Charge twenty five dollars for a processing fee when you cancel and find a better deal down the street. You are put hold for several minutes and switched around from service rep to the next.

Well first off it started off nice,then the following day after we got there there were "sand fleas" ALL over our room. They were flying around EVERYWHERE biting my boyfriend, his mom, nephew, and myself. Needless to say I was on vacation and I did not want varmints biting me the whole time I'm on vacation. When we called down to the office they told us that it wasn't unusual for them to be there, but no other rooms had this problem. Someone came and sprayed and they were still there. The room service was great the girls were all very nice. I was pleased with them just not the bugs. EW!!

Came to Virginia Beach for the Patriotic Festival. Found Hotel on the internet. Choose this particular Hotel by reading some of the previous reviews. Was not dissapointed. Hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, food was outstanding. Would not hesitate to recommend or visit hotel again.

This was my first visit to VA Beach and last. The air conditioner was broken our first night so it felt like a saune the safe in the room was broke but could only be used with a code that was given by the person that fixed it. The hall and elevator was so hot it was crazy. The best part was the Mahi Mah where the food was a little price but good

We were a little worried about the bad reviews we read, but this place is great!! They let us check in when we got there (early). EVERYONE we encountered was very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet. The only thing was there was no coffee maker in the room; but, that was no big deal as there is a coffee shop across the street and only4 blocks up the street that made for a nice morning stroll. We will most definitely go there again. Only one day did we have late maid service, and she was very apologetic for it. Don't be afraid of this one!

When i booked both of my rooms i was not informed of the $60 deposit per room until check in. I put those deposits on my debit card which was explained 2 me that would be put back on my card @ checkout. I enjoyed my stay to the fullest and had no complaints.Two days after i checked out i checked my balance @ the bank and sure enough my deposit had been returned. However when i went to make a withdrawal to pay my rent i found that the Ramada had charged $70 to my account for a broken mirror 5 i repeat five days after checkout. When enquiring why the GM told me it was because i signed that i was responsible for damages. I asked why 5 days later he couldn't give an answer or as to why i was charged more than my deposit. I began to get mad and he hung up on me. I have had no luck trying to get a number to speak to someone above him either. I know legally that they cannot touch my account after my debit card was released at checkout. However, im am getting the run around about it. Do not book here by credit or debit card.

My husband and myself stayed at the Ramada on the Beach 6/27/09-7/1/09. The hotel was very clean and good location. Although we both had a great time, our check in was not so good. The lady that checked us in was very rude,unfriendly. We also had a problem with having our room cleaned. If you like clean towels,beds made,and trash emptied this is not the hotel for you! I told the front desk that our room was not cleaned in three days and I needed some trash bags and towels well the person at the front desk threw them over the counter and said someone will be up to clean. It did get cleaned that day around 4:00. Besides our problems with check in and room cleaning the Hotel was very nice the view from our balcony was great. their restaurant Maui Maui was excellent! And we did have a great time.

Although our room was nice and we loved the balcony, checking in and out was a hassle. They charge a 60$ security deposit, which we were not told of when we made the reservation. This was to be returned when we checked out and since we spent no extra money on movies or room service etc, the full 60$ was to be returned. The desk clerk gave us attitude. She expected us to wait in the lobby for the manager who was in a meeting to get the money for us. We said this was ridiculous and she slowly went over to the restaurant to get change and returned the fee to us. Lots of attitude and no apology. I left a message on the manager's answering machine after we left but got no response. Also, when we checked in they had us listed as a smoking room though we had made reservations for non-smoking. The clerk did correct this, but it was only a chance remark on her part that lead to our inquiring about it, otherwise we would have ended up in a smoking room by mistake. Also, the restaurant, Mahi Mahs was good and our waitress was great but we got attitude and no answer from one of the hostesses when asking a question about items on the menu. No sure where they find these people to work in customer service areas..... So, it's a lot of hassles and there are better places to stay at Virginia Beach.

I had a group of 13 ladies there on Mar 12-14, 2009 and we had a wonderful experience. Everyone so nice, rooms clean, restaurant good. We will use this motel again. Valet service was wonderful, too!
