Good service -hotel could use a facelift

I stayed at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel for one night while visiting Thomas Jefferson's home in Charlottesville. The location is great... about a short 5 minute drive to Monticello which was perfect. The pool was nice (we had it to ourself) and the indoor pool (although cold) was great for when it was raining.
The room was okay but in need of a facelift. The beds were in need of new mattresses and maybe some featherbeds wouldn't hurt...
The bathroom was small, and like most Omni Hotels, outdated. The desk was a little shaky, and the minibar (which was expensive) kept the candy bars frozen (had to wait for it to defrost...).
While I was staying here, it was storming and the power went out. My family and another got stuck in the elevators (glass so we could knock) and were out within 10 minutes. The restaurants had problems with the food defrosting and because of that, it was hard to find service.
All in all, I would definately stay at the Omni if I returned to Charlottesville, mainly for it's location.
The service was great and the doorman (can't remember his name) was extremely helpful with directions to Monticello.
(After staying here I stayed at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh which was 2 stars higher (3 stars here, 5 in Pittsburgh) and not near as nice.
