What do you expect for $234 a night?
By Jan, 06/09/09
A clean room? Free Coffee in the lobby? Not happening at this hotel. We recently stayed two nights at the Omni and were very disappointed. They provide coffee in the room, but if you are an early (and I mean early) riser you may catch it in the lobby before they take it away at 6:45 am. Now I understand that it costs money to put coffee in the lobby, but for what I was paying, I think I should have had all the coffee I want. We were disappointed that our room had not been cleaned yet 3:45 pm Saturday afternoon so we could rest before dinner. I would not recommend this hotel. Expensive too!

Good service -hotel could use a facelift
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/07
I stayed at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel for one night while visiting Thomas Jefferson's home in Charlottesville. The location is great... about a short 5 minute drive to Monticello which was perfect. The pool was nice (we had it to ourself) and the indoor pool (although cold) was great for when it was raining. The room was okay but in need of a facelift. The beds were in need of new mattresses and maybe some featherbeds wouldn't hurt... The bathroom was small, and like most Omni Hotels, outdated. The desk was a little shaky, and the minibar (which was expensive) kept the candy bars frozen (had to wait for it to defrost...). While I was staying here, it was storming and the power went out. My family and another got stuck in the elevators (glass so we could knock) and were out within 10 minutes. The restaurants had problems with the food defrosting and because of that, it was hard to find service. All in all, I would definately stay at the Omni if I returned to Charlottesville, mainly for it's location. The service was great and the doorman (can't remember his name) was extremely helpful with directions to Monticello. (After staying here I stayed at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh which was 2 stars higher (3 stars here, 5 in Pittsburgh) and not near as nice.

Terrific Business Event
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/07
My company held a two-day event at this location and we were very pleased with our overall experience. Rooms were beautiful, luxurious and clean. Service associates were polite and knowledgeable. Meeting space was not high-end, but was adequate. Food service was delicious, though my only complaint is the "public" accessibility to our serving table. The best part was the general location in the Downtown Mall. Though the hotel is hard to find the first time, it is part of an area that is full of atmosphere and lots of fun things to do and places to eat.

Great hotel with a location to match
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/07
The Omni Charlottesville Hotel was simply amazing. Its location, which was my main reason for staying here, was great, and so was the hotel itself. The lobby is nice, with tons of greenery and places to sit. Rooms are average, but could use new bedding. We got stuck in the elevator due to a power outage, but within 3 minutes were in the lobby area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Charlottesville area.

Unfriendly front desk, room unclean, tv didn't wor
By kayakzz, 08/29/06
I knew I was in trouble when the front desk snarled at me during check-in. I then found pubic hairs in the bed, someone's old smelly clothes in the closet and cigar ashes everywhere. To top it off, my TV didn't work. When I tried to call the front desk for some assistance, they didn't answer. My advise, stay at a "flea-bag" hotel, at least your only paying what its worth.

Will not go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/05
First, I love C-ville and have been going there at least once a year for the last four or five years. Second, I am a registered select guest with Omni hotels and have stayed in four different Omni's around the country. We went to the Omni for a romantic weekend and found ourselves in a dirty, moldy room that was not worth the expensive room rate. The ceiling was discolored with dirt and dust from the heat vent. The air filters had not been changed. The tub enclosure and shower curtain had mold and mildew. The bed and sheets were uncomfortable and far from luxurious. Basically the hotel is old and has maintance issues. We will diffently go back to Charlottesville, but we will never stay at that Omni again.

Over Priced, Poor Service, Terrible Attitudes
By Woo, 08/22/05
Took a friend there for breakfast one morning and we were shocked by the prices, was served poorly and received little satisfaction when talking about it with management. I'll never go there again.

Over-Priced. No Breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/05
The Omni in Charlottesville is over-priced for the amenities and service offered. Don't assume breakfast with your room, nor customer satisfaction if you bring the matter to the frontdesk.

perfect for enjoying dowtown
By Mike, 05/23/05
We stayed here after a romantic dinner and evening on the downtown mall. It was an excellent loaction and the service was very good. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. We were provided with extra towels and pillows at our request and a prompt wake up call in the morning. I would stay there again and recomend in to anyone that would like to enjoy the atmosphere of downtown charlottesville.
